Historic charm! From outside and most ofthe inside it looks like a hundred years old building ! Some renovations inside! The spiral staircase brings a beautiful accent to the whole place. Pretty quite and classy! Now comes the food! Its COSTLY! And the quality is not that good! Also poor portion size ! I did not understand why the cost... More

I have heard about this place for a while. We went on a cold January night. The place was empty. The food was average. The wine selection was reasonable. The waiter clearly knew the menu and the food. He was friendly and informative. I don't think I would rush back, but if a friend suggested it I would go with... More

Quiet, great ambience, good service. An excellent restaurant if you want to have conversation. The food is okay, but not at their prices. My partner's steak did not have much flavour. Same with the salmon I had. Go for dessert and coffee maybe.

We had dinner with friends at the bistro. It has been a very long time since we had all been here. Our previous visits had all been very good. We had a bottle of Quail's Gate merlot. Great Canadian winery in BC. We shared starter salads which were fresh and crispy. The men had Caesar salad and the women shared... More

My wife and I went there for our anniversary, quiet atmosphere, family owned business where the owner actually served us. Very friendly and great food with a decent price. Will return!

We went there as a family of 6. Each of us had a different entree and all of the meals were well prepared and had really good taste. The venue itself is quaint and would be a great place for an intimate dining experience. However, even with a family of 6 we had a great time. The owner was our... More

Lovely little spot with delicious food and very warm atmosphere. The fresh vegetables from the roof top garden were cooked perfectly and very enjoyable. Loved the artwork on the walls.

I have been to this restaurant with friends a couple of times, and both times have been great experiences. The service was warm and efficient, the selection diverse, and the food very good. It's quite compact inside, but has never felt uncomfortably so.

Visited this quaint restaurant on a Thursday evening. Was quiet with only a handful of customers. Great atmosphere! Assume the server was actually the owner as his knowledge of the food was exceptional. They grow some of their own herbs and vegetables, which the server was very proud of. Friend had the chicken special which she said was great. The... More

Had a group dinner out with friends. We all agreed this is one of our favorite places to eat. The server was very helpful in suggesting the wine choice. Everyone had an appetizer and the spicy shrimp were the favorite., large shrimp with a delicious dipping sauce on the plate. The spinach balls were tasty and the chicken liver was... More

Description
The Bistro is a small locally owned and operated restaurant, in a historic 1906 building in the heart of downtown Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Using locally sourced ingredients when available, dishes are inspired by our love of travel. In the summer months, watch for our Bistro rooftop garden vegetables and herbs. Our little garden started out as a few pots of herbs and tomatoes. Now, it has grown to include edible flowers, heirloom tomatoes, beans, peppers, lettuces, and so much more.
