We stopped off during our road trip. It was clean and exactly what was advertised. We loved our trip

Dined here while on overnight stay, and must say the food was very good. The menu was varied and catered for most tastes. Prices were very reasonable.

Impressive mock fortified Manor House, good rooms with nice spacious places to relax in, comfy bed and huge bathroom! Only problem was the shower being a bit of a dribble! The food here was stunning, great breakfast and a good dinner. The staff and owners were welcoming and friendly. The chefs were superb!!

Surly waitress/very slow service/dowdy surroundings /dreadful overpriced food/no atmosphere. Lots of better alternatives to eat out in nearby Bury St Edmunds. The Grange was a lot better than this in the past, but it has now deteriorated almost beyond belief.

We stopped off on our way back to Ipswich after a day out at Lackford Lakes. We'd tried a couple of pubs to get something to eat and drink but they'd all been still shut at 5:30 with no sign of opening, and having decided to drive back via Thurston, we saw the signs for this place and gave it... We held my mother's wake at this hotel and it was as perfect as such an event can be. We had afternoon tea instead of the usual buffet and nothing was too much trouble for the owner or staff.

Standards here, throughout this establishment are very poor indeed. Dubious hygiene, sullen service, scruffy, disrespectful and lethargic staff combined with the barely mediocre food dictate that this is one to avoid at all costs. Who on earth puts sea bass in a greasy beer batter?

Description
Lying deep in the heart of Suffolk, The Grange Hotel and Restaurant charms from the moment you set eyes on it, the rustic, homely appearance of the building set amongst its own secluded garden area of open countryside providing a warm welcome. Before your meal, perhaps set foot in to the Lounge Bar, which opens on to the terrace and Garden, and sample the selection of fine beers whilst five chefs prepare food from the freshest ingredients for the Garden Restaurant and the Adam Room, its more formal counterpart. A la carte dining on fine British cuisine and an extensive wine list are offered, as well as grand, traditional roast lunches on Sundays.
