Travelling by car from U.K. To Spain we stoped in this lovely village and enjoyed excellent service and food from this restaurant. Very tasty and well presented food in a lovely warm and cosy setting. The restauranteur was very helpful explaining each dish and then checking that all was okay. A very enjoyable evening after a long days drive. Highly... More

We were a group of 11 cyclists from Wisconsin, and this was the perfect place for us. Plenty of bike storage, a beautiful garden with a deck, tables and chairs, comfortable rooms with very good beds, clean inside and out. Anne, the owner accommodated all of our requests, flexible meal times, options for dinner courses. The hotel is located 2.5... More

Came here somewhat by default, as the table d'hote we had booked for the evening became unavailable. This didn't look too promising when we arrived, but we had a decent meal and the ambience was good and authentic. This is a small Auberge, located in a small village and on a Friday night there appeared to be hotel guests as... More

We stayed in the Auberge and then ate in the restaurant. The atmosphere was intimate and quiet - a delight to be able to hear one another. Food was excellent - and service discreet and helpful.

Great food with a n Italian flovour, the food was good and the service and staff are very good. The food and the atmosphere made this a unique experience. The Restrauant and Hotel are only 5 kms from Foix a trip well worth it

We were staying in the next village and this was the nearest restaurant. A warm and welcoming atmosphere in a small and cosy restaurant. It filled up quickly after we arrived, so booking is probably recommended. Food was French regional with some Italian influences. Mrs D stuck to the 23€ formule (home-marinaded salmon, petit poulpes et seiches a la grecque,... More

Following a disastrous first few hours at a rented property nearby which was filthy, we were ready to eat and couldn't be bothered to cook after 2 hours cleaning. We had passed La Barguillere a few hours earlier and decided to try our luck. We arrived after 8.30 and we're met by Anne who showed us to a table and... More

Don't understand the last review. Been here twice and excellent meals both times. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, and eating here is altogether a lovely experience.

The set evening meal was good value for money. The choice on the menu was quite good if you didn't like the set meal

We have a holiday home in the area and have had many excellent meals here - until the restaurant changed hands. Deciding to sample the 'new' owners fayre, we opted for a plat de jour one lunch time. The entree was a weird mix of beetroot and other salad items, the fish course uninspiring and unappertising, desert marginally better. My... More

La Barguillere is an authentic traditional-style French tavern and augerge in the heart of the Pyrenees. The rooms are simple, clean and full of character. The staff is friendly- almost like family. Meals and wines are the best in the valley. The kitchen cooks with local, fresh, organic- slow food style.
