About
Welcome to Spinnaker Café! A place where you always feel at home and are welcomed with a warm smile. Owners, Ruth Hobbs and Susanne Duryea have been providing their customers with fresh homestyle food since they opened the café in Blind Bay in October 2015. Susanne, originally from New York, is an accomplished chef and opened her first restaurant, also named Spinnaker Café, in Englewood, Florida in 1989. England native, Ruth joined Susanne in 2003 and together, they built their business until they sold it in 2007. With the intent of retiring in Blind Bay after moving from Vancouver, Ruth and Susanne saw an imminent need for a local gathering place where neighbours could enjoy homemade comfort food, and thus, Spinnaker Café was reborn! Since opening their doors, customers feast on daily created soups and specials and freshly baked pies, cakes and pastries.

I stopped in one early morning for breakfast and found the staff very friendly and welcoming. My breakfast was ordered and received quickly with the server checking in on me several times to see that my needs were met. Would definitely return.

Three of us stopped here for a quick lunch. Great service and friendly staff. Reasonable prices and nice selection of entries. Food arrived in a timely manner and was warm and fresh tasting. Stop in here if you can. Only draw back is that they close at 3:00 pm but a great place for breakfast or lunch.

Attended for breakfast and had straight value tasty well-prepared Eggs Benedict. Good diner stye coffee and excellent pastries. Lunch was not as great because I hoped for more with my Rueban. The meat tasted like it came out of one of those pre-measured packages. Great service. Lots of families dropping in.

Eating at Spinnaker Cafe was a great experience for me. It is a small restaurant, but there is always availability there. The people who work there are very welcoming and are always cordial whenever they serve you. The food there is fantastic. I had the Loaded Scrambled Eggs and it was made with so much ingredients, like sockeye salmon, green onions, peppers, cheese and topped with hollandaise sauce. It is also served with hashbrowns. This entree is a daily special, where they serve something different on a daily basis. The coffee was so good that I had a second cup with my meal. I like the design of the outside and the inside of the establishment as well. It has that home-like charm to it. Anyone, who happens to come by Blind Bay make sure to turn into the strip mall to eat at Spinnaker Cafe.

My friend and I stopped by for breakfast. Extremely friendly staff, cup of coffee was never empty and the food was delicious! Ordered a bacon egg-which with hash browns, and my friend ordered “the trucker.” Both were great, plus everything was VERY reasonably priced. A great little breakfast find.

Delicious Food. Friendly staff. We had Denver Omlette, Chicken strip and fries, Scrambled eggs and sausage - pancake and bacon on the side. All of it Delicious - we will be back- great breakfast and more place to go

weve been going to spinnakers since Suzanne and Ruth opened the doors a few years ago. we loved it.
Not so much since the new owners took over. The food is still fabulous, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Consistently slow and not overly friendly.
I was astounded when I ordered a tea, instead of the elegant silver teapot. I received a mug of hot water with an unwrapped plain teabag on the side, ugh. when I asked the server about the teapots, she said they didn't use them anymore as we, the customers, may burn ourselves. The only restaurant I've been n that is concerned whether I burn myself on a teapot, condescending to say the least.
We've hesitated to write a poor review as we like to support our community, but when we're told to go to McDonald's if we want faster service, given unwrapped teabags on the saucer with a mug of hot water, it's time to pull the plug. Other lovely, friendly breakfast spots in the area
15 years here in beautiful blind bay and we see one of our shining jewels is losing its lustre.

Went to Spinnakers with 2 other couples for the first time and we were all so impressed with this little gem of a restaurant in our local neighbourhood. The food was amazing (obviously all fresh ingredients and homemade)and the service impeccable. We will definitely be back again and again.
Please be open more than 3 evenings a week!!

Our family went there for breakfast twice during our stay in Blind Bay. Nice family style restaurant. Service is friendly and the breakfast fare is good and generous.

We had a delicious lunch here while passing through town. Great service, delicious food, and they have bakery offerings to take home too! The BEST beef barley soup I have ever had (I really want the recipe)! We will definitely be back again and highly recommend this restaurant!

They only serve Breakfast and Lunch at the Spinnaker (though carry-out dinners are available), and they are very, very good at it. The cooking staff does a superb job of preparing the food. We eat breakfast or lunch there at least once a week, and have never had a bad meal. I recommend the Cajun Chaos skillet breakfast, Bacon and Eggs, and get the homemade biscuit instead of toast. You won't be disappointed! The Chili Soup is exactly what you think Chili should always be--Loaded with lean ground beef, just the right amount of spice and beans in a tomato sauce with clarified onions. The Reuben Sandwich and Cuban Panini are other favorites.

Sunday lunch was great, super value, lots of super staff, great variety, great small-town decor, loads of parking in the big parking lot. If you are in the area, go out of your way to have breakfast or lunch here!
