Attended at the end of June. First time this year. Enjoyed overall experience. After a lengthy wait our drink order was taken. Was not comfortable with server. The wait person who took the food order was more pleasant The food was well presented, appetizing. Portion size met expectation.

Late lunch

Finz has always been a treat for us - the food is good and the service is friendly This trip however was not their best showing If they seat you out front in 31C temps they need to set up fans or shades…. We had the family with small children and couldn’t finish our meal as the heat was unbearable The waitress was somewhat overloaded so Items were slow to appear It was unfortunate we picked this day - next time we will insist our seating be in an area we can enjoy our time there. Thank you

Excellent Service

If you have the chance, request Maya to be your server. She is a delightful easy going waitress that wants to make your experience fun. My wife and I brought our dogs with us from the campsite across the road. Maya was on it. Before we knew it she had water for them and was giving them a pet. She was not interested in pressuring us, but wanted us to enjoy ourselves, helping with suggestions and checking in an appropriate amount. Thank you for doing an amazing job Maya.

Great location, average pub

If you are in the area on a summer day (it is only open seasonally) and looking for lunch with a view by all means try Finz. Get there early and get a good table with a view because that is the attraction at an otherwise average pub. We had had fish & chips and beer each (came to just under $60 with tax and tip). Service was fine, the food and beer satisfactory but nothing special.

Horrible server

5 of us visited yesterday, we waited 15 minutes before our server came up to us. She did not smile at all and immediately asked “what do you want to drink” we all asked for water and her face dropped (like her bills wouldn’t be high or something) she walked right away. 10 minutes later a different server dropped our waters off. Keep in mind it was not busy. We’ve all been to Finz before when it was busy and it was not at all. She came up long after to take our orders as one of the last guys was ordering before he could even finish his sentence she turned and walked away (did not take menus off). We watched as she smiled and laughed with her one other table. We got our food which was delicious she did not ask once how it was. When we finished she ignored us for a solid 20 minutes then finally asking how we’d like our bills. We watched a table sit down and without 10 seconds of them being there she had a big smile and was asking what they’d like to drink etc. when she brought us our two bills we paid and she walked away without saying a word. Keep in mind we tipped her 15% which was a beyond good tip for her service. Unimpressed to say the least. She was an older lady fyi. I hope she cheers up because we were all shocked. Just had another AMAZING lunch

Just had another AMAZING lunch at Finz today. To start with, the best server, Jenny, and amazing service. Janice the manager always goes out of her way to make it a great experience. Today I had both specials, tortilla soup 🍲,outstanding, I felt like I was in Mexico! Highly recommended. Then I had the Taco salad,loaded with chicken, lettuce,carrots,peppers,cheese, carrots,and very yummy salsa. They also have a good variety of wines, and make really delicious cocktails. Another must have when you go is the mussels in a lemongrass delicious,with garlic toast...omg.. they are to die for. Make sure you take your appetite, the portions are very generous. Always a great meal, super friendly staff, and that view...🌞🌞🌞👍🏼

Our group of 5 ate dinner here last night. We each ordered something different and we were all thoroughly impressed with the amount and quality of our food. The view was fantastic off the patio and the service was excellent! I highly recommend this place!

Great views, one of very few place in Blind Bay

There are very few places to eat and rink in Blind Bay, just as it is a tiny town. Finz is a local fave as you can moor up your boat, jump off, get drunk off of bulldogs and then jet home. This is the second time I have been here in the space of 5 years. We most recently came in July 2021 when it was SUPER smoky so the views weren't great (not Finz fault). The drinks are expensive and the menu serves pub food. It does exactly what it says on the tin - this is not gourmet food, this is pub grub but it is absolutely fine; pizza, burgers, salads. We had pizza, poutine and a burger -all totally fine..FYI the pizzas have fresh tomatoes on them - a word to the wise for picky eaters. The location can't be beat. The ambience is ok; the serving staff always seem a bit dizzy. I have heard other people complain that their food took ages, this wasn't the case for us because they could only seat us at 4.30pm as they were full the rest of the evening. Book in advance and at least try a bulldog are my two recommendations.

Sirloin Dinner mouth watering-wish I'd taken a photo!

Delighted to get a table (even if it was indoors) on July 18th. Kristen did a terrific job of looking after us. Kids were a bit restless but nothing that a Kid's Chocolate Milk did not fix and a Mt Begbie Dark Lager for grandma!! Sirloin dinner was OUTSTANDING, looked more like a filet mignon and the Peppercorn Gravy was so delicious to put on all the roasted potatoes and fresh vegetables, that I ordered more (sadly this appeared on the bill). The salmon gnocchi was also excellent according to the 10 year old, who is definitely allergic to the concept of the "Children's Menu" but the 1 pc Fish n yummy Chips satisfied the 7 yr old. We also ordered the full Salmon dinner and all in all, a terrific restaurant and server. With all the balcony seating, and open doors, one could not avoid the occasional fly. Parking is tight so be warned and park in adjacent trailer park as we did, arriving to full lot at 5pm.

Superb View and "almost" Very Good Food

Dropped in for lunch. Our Fish and Chips had a nicely done piece of fish, the usual fries, and absolutely terrible cole slaw. How can you have a restaurant in the heart of fresh produce and fruit country and serve "out of the package cardboard tasting cabbage"? I talked to someone about it and it was clear they didn't care because business is booming. The Cuban Sandwich was very average.

“Horrible server”

End of Aug 2022. Our server came up to us. She did not smile at all, not very friendly and immediately asked “What do you want to drink” we asked for water and her face dropped. It was not busy. She served the people that came in after us first. Very Over Priced for what you get. Poor Quality Food. Looked like Pre - Packaged Meat. It was tasteless, unseasoned and barely warm.

Not great value (portions) for the high prices

Great location and Courtney, our server, did a wonderful job with efficiency and friendliness. We were a party of 10 and most meals were quite tasty, although the portions were not in line with the high prices. The kalamari 'appetizer' was really overpriced and considering a double portion was asked for, $36 for one not very large plate was pretty outrageous. Fish and chips were also just basic but far too pricey for what you get. The steak sandwich only came with fries and a small toasted bread and 2 small containers of dip/ketchup. Although the steak was done perfectly, again, very little in terms of actual food. The Buddha salads were a hit and were a good size but that is due to lots of greens. The burger and Cuban were both fine, but paying an extra $2 for a salad to substitute for fries is another example of unnecessary extra billing. Value for money is not to be found here, but the service is fine and the location on the lake the best thing.

Favourite Restaurant in Blind Bay

We are lucky enough to have a lake house in the area and it’s a must stop every week we are here . Great for drinks , lunch or dinner with direct lake views to die for . Lots of outside patio dining with good heaters for those cool nights . A must try is the sos martini and their weekend dinner specials . Fish and chips is also a hit and their house salad . All the severs are great no matter how busy they are but Bekki is our very favourite ! Reservations are recommended for weekends in the summer if you don’t want to be disappointed .

Came back for seconds!

Moored our boat at the marina so ate there twice. Once for dinner and once for lunch. A-maz-ing! Fish & chips, chefs kiss. Only thing that would have made it better was a homemade tartar sauce! Mussels delicious 🤤 Drinks were cold and service was great! Highly recommend!

Great Food And Fun Atmosphere

We were invited to Finz for supper, and were very surprised at everything about this restaurant. From the street or water it looks very simple, but once inside you realize that it is anything but. The atmosphere was great. Very relaxed, and the staff was amazing. Prompt service, and great suggestions on both the drink and food menus. When our food arrived it was as appetizing as it was good. Not sure how you top great food and service with amazing views of the lake from almost every table. I hope they don’t try and make it better as I don’t think it is possible. Will I ever go back? You better believe it!
