We came to Jackson Stops after a good walk, looking for some refreshments. We walked in and were made very welcome by Bob the landlord, who kept us amused for a good 2 hours despite greeting other customers. We decided to have some food as we were told by Bob they did some good items on the blackboard. Bobs bits... More

Went for birthday dinner, just 4 of us food was excellent, especially the meat platter for sharing. Staff were attentive and friendly and were quite happy to present the birthday cake we had brought, everyone joined in singing happy birthday. Lovely rustic decor. Would we go again, ...definitely yes.

After a week away with family we wanted to stop off on the way home for some lunch. Quick Internet search and we stumbled up this lovely place just 2 minutes from the A1. Very small car park but we found space to park on the road. It was busy for 1:00 on a Friday so we had to wait... More

Food is much more than usual pub fare. Delicious choice of starters, mains and desserts, thoughtfully presented.Tables arranged in several rooms rather than a large dining room which makes the experience more intimate. Attentive staff though a bit of a wait between courses (pub was very busy). Look forward to going back some time soon!

Went for lunch, all very affordable but relly well presented and top quality. The bread and garlic oil put on the table is scrummy. Every course was perfect.

We have never been disappointed with the food. The fish and chips always good, fresh fish always. The lamb pie and veg. is one of my favourites. Large portions. We travel seventy miles to have lunch here. It has never let us down. The staff are always helpful and friendly. It is very clean. The path to the pub is... More

Very quaint pub with unusual layout. Delightful staff. Very good pate, wonderful pork selection and excellent puds. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

We were welcomed with open arms at this little gem of a place. Together with friends, we had a most enjoyable lunch. There was an excellent menu with a lot to choose from, the food was well prepared and served with efficiency. Overall it`s amazingly good value so we will definitely be returning again. As the car park is rather... More

My gorgeous queen took me here for my birthday meal. First impressions were very good, very welcoming gentleman greeted us and offered us a drink or to go direct to our table, we choose the latter. Service was a little slow from then, although there is a note within the menu that states you have to wait 20/25 minutes if... More
