We called in to this very welcoming pub and immediately noticed as it was Friday it was designated "Fishy Friday" The menu was very extensive but as we had just arrived in Yorkshire, we decided to go fishy and the deal was two for £15. I chose Whitby scampi and my other half chose haddock. Both meals were excellent value... More

My wife and I called in for lunch today and we were both very pleased and impressed by our visit. We were given a warm and cheerful welcome by the bar staff and also enjoyed some friendly banter with the locals! The bar and restaurant areas are attractive with lots of character and history - the bar area is also... More

Good food and beers and welcome from the friendly staff. We had a nice meal here one evening whilst staying in the area and would recommend the New Inn. Accommodation too and a safe car park and outside courtyard.

The staff are friendly, the pub itself is lovely and the food is beautiful, but I am very disappointed in the state of the highchairs. We have been here plenty of times but used my chailds pushcahir in the past. Today he needed a high chair and it was VERY unclean. I was quite reluctant to use it and put... More

Service was excellent, really nice staff on both visits. Cons: Lack of real cider and only one vegetarian option for the wife lose it a point. Pros The beer is Theakston's so be prepared for some good taps. Friendly, polite staff. Good clean eatery, Well portioned plates, All in all a good visit.

Enjoyed a great reunion meat with 6 friends.Meal and service good with ample choice. Parking was the only challenge, reflecting the popularity of the venue. All guests enjoyed the food and ambience.

A very nice pub/ restaurant. Would recommend booking, we were there on a Tuesday evening and it was very busy. Lovely atmosphere and setting. Great service, very friendly. Food was great. We were a mixed family group , it was no trouble to get the children's meals served with our starters as they were famished. Highly recommended.

Visited the restaurant in April 2017. I asked for a gluten free menu but there wasn't one available, the waitress did say that if I first looked at the menu she would then check with the chef. Having looked through the menu I could see that the majority of food would have gluten in it. The actual gluten free choices... More

Very good food and wine list. Friendly and helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Has an enclosed beer garden. The New Inn has a near monopoly as an eating establishment in Thornton-le-Dale.

Visited New Inn on Monday with pet dog. Very friendly staff and cosy bar. 3 lots of fish chips and mushy peas plus two burgers followed by two fancy ice cream sundaes. Will be back as Bombadier on draft. Sadly driving on this visit
