Actually there is very little to say about this extremely modest, endearingly shabby little shop right in the heart of the ancient fishing port of Newlyn. Except that upon entering, it is hugely reminiscent of the 60's and serves just one flavour of home made ice cream - Vanilla! This is no ordinary vanilla and no ordinary ice cream! Some... More

Jelbert's Ice cream parlour is not on the tourist route, but is easy to find - by asking any local. Their ice cream has been a long kept secret, that no self-respecting local would miss - short of a catastrophe. I t is very close to the Newlyn bridge bus stop - about half a mile, and easy walk, from... More

Lovely vanilla ice cream - that's all I need to say. No silly flavours - tried hard to explain to a kid in the queue why they didn't do bubble gum flavour - interesting experience!

This is nothing more than a shop that sells the best ice cream in the world. Nothing fancy nothing new just wonderful ice cream.

The ice cream at Jelberts is definitely one of the best I've ever had ever. What a find, really. If you are anywhere remotely close to this place, rain or shine, it's a must. A really lovely, simple, perfect, delight.

You can't visit Penzance without visiting Jelberts ice cream parlour/shop in the nearby village of Newlyn. They only do one flavour of ice cream Vanilla. That's all you need. That keep it simple & delicious including a flake & clotted cream. Prices are reasonable from under £2.00 & friendly staff to serve.

After another fantastic year eating Jelberts famous Clotted Cream ice Cream, we have been so many times this year, the last one being the other day, I was able to bring my Ice Cream home with me along with the fresh Clotted Cream and I ate it at home but you cannot beat eating it by the side of the... Probably the best vanilla ice cream you'll ever taste. The queues outside the door of this unpretentious little shop are testament to the popularity and quality of the freshly made ice cream direct from the farm. If you are in Penwith make the effort to seek out this little gem of a shop and have a vanilla ice cream (the... More

Cannot walk past Jelberts without popping in for an ice cream , the beauty of this place is simply the ice cream and the choice of home made vanilla ice cream in a tub or cone, with or without flake or clotted cream. Nice and simple without loads of flavours, cone types and toppings to choose from, and reasonably priced... More
