I had suggested this venue to have dinner with friends on Saturday night as it is not far from where we all live. We had starters, main courses and 2 desserts. Starters were nice, tasty and copious. We, then, had sirloin and rump which was all lovely and tender but looking very differently in thickness; the one thin, black from... More

Our local pub shut for refurbishment so we got a taxi to the farmer inn. We didn't eat but the menu and the food looked amazing! Loved the look of the pub was just perfect! It got really busy in the evening - popular place!

Fantastic roast dinner, huge portions and good value for money! The puddings are also huge and very nice, we had apple crumble and custard and my parents had cheesecake, both of which were lovely. Also a very nice setting.

I cannot thank Jim and his team enough for a very enjoyable birthday celebration. I hired one of the rooms which worked well. I have to say that the buffet was plentiful and ended up giving my guests food to take home with them! Delicious hot and cold buffet with a varied choice. It was a very special evening thank... So far I've visited the Farmer for dinner/lunch 4 times, twice it was outstanding, once was OK and once poor. When it's good it's amazing, the portions are generous and everything is cooked wonderfully. Their triple cooked chips, when done with care, are the highlight of any meal! When done poorly they are just large lumps of undercooked potato. The... More

The wait for food was not too long and when the steaks arrived with baked potatoes and trimmings, the portions were generous. The steaks were cooked as requested and were tender and tasty. The other main meals were appreciated, though the portions of macaroni cheese for the light meals were indeed quite small, which is worth bearing in mind. A... More

The granary bread was very fresh and the chips were home cooked with rock salt. I also liked the j 2 o s they do.

A great pub, great atmosphere and fab food. Normally we averagely wait 50 minutes for food but hey, if you know it's slow then you don't get annoyed - a great pub!

Having read the reviews, it was pleasing to find a warm welcome and a log fire. The locals were friendly and dogs on leads were not discouraged. The menu was varied and our party of 9 including a vegetarian had a good choice from the menu. Everyone expressed satisfaction with their meals and the size of the portions. The food... More
