The walks around this area are brilliant and this is a great starting or finishing point for any visit to the Henry Moore Foundation - a stunning 72 acres of his sculpture, studios, galleries and his own home (perfectly preserved), a chance to see his work in the place he felt was its best setting. There is a good choice... More

After seeing an advert in Axis magazine - we decided to take a drive over for an early dinner. Sadly on arrival, we were told food wasn't being served until 6pm and it was only 4.30pm. They were very apologetic due to a private function - Feeling a little disappointed as the welcome of the staff was spot on and... More

Went for a family meal to celebrate Mother's Day and have been surprised by bunch of daffodils and a box of chocolate for every Mum in the restaurant :-) very nice thing to do. Food very good as always, we will definitely come back again for Sunday roast. Evie and family.

In recent months my family and I have given the hoops a lot of chances as we like the food so much, but unfortunately we can't get passed the staff. Its such a shame because about a year ago the hoops was brilliant - now the management is very poor, the staff are constantly changing, and there's only two people... More

This afternoon was a magnificent display of a quintessential English life at its best. It started with a lovely drive out The Hoops, on our arrival we found ample room to park and raging log fire. The bar staff and manager were equally warm even though the place was heaving, there is a fine selection of real ales and draught... More

What a fantastic meal!! We had the portobello mushroom starter followed by the lamb rump special. Everything was superbly cooked and tasted amazing. Alistair the manager sat and chatted with us at the end of the meal and was a lovely man. We will without doubt be returning. The best restaurant meal we've had in ages.
