Popped over to The Star at Star to see what all the fuss was about with the recent opening of Cas and Nick's new venture, and very good it is too. We were greeted by Dan, who was friendly, welcoming and professional. This is a...good sized venue, but the front section has separate areas which makes for a more convivial atmosphere, whilst leaving the large dining area to the right of the entrance for larger parties/families and the like. There's a comprehensive menu, and with our drinks my wife and I picked King Prawn Tagliatelle and Fish Pie - both were excellent, made with quality ingredients and of a generous size. I paid £47.50 (inc a tip), excellent value. Thoroughly recommended, and we'll be back soon.More

Called in for the first time in years last week, we were met with a very warm welcome and a great meal, Burger and Plough mans. Decided to come back for Sunday lunch this week. Sunday lunch was fantastic, Food Great, Service great, a proper...oldy style pub. Would strongly recommend the Sunday sharing meal if there are 2 or 4 in your group. Will be back again, well worth the 34 mile round trip.More

Having searched on Trip Advisor. we booked a meal for an evening when we were heading to the hotel at Bristol Airport, for a flight the next morning. The Star Inn exceeded our expectations. We had excellent steaks and as it was a special 'Steak...Night' the steaks came with a bottle of Malbec, which was jolly good. The owner was welcoming, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good - it was a pleasure to visit The Star Inn.More

Kept having this issue at lots of places so bought a MudDaddy which works well. Staff at The Star are brilliant, ring ahead and ask if they can let you fill your own bowl with warm water.

Yes. There is an area in the Star (slightly away from from the main restaurant but with direct access to the bar) which is specifically for dogs. This area has dog beds/blankets and dog water bowls.
