When we arrived this place was recommended by two locals, i have to believe they either have never been here or were recommending the cute uniqueness of the place. The food was terrible and overpriced and very limited. There is no menu ergo no prices the owner comes by suits at your table and tells you what there is. Here... More

Local restaurant just past Grote Knip beach at your right hand side on your way to Westpunt. The aged owner Jan is your "walking menu" and will guide you - sitting at your table - through the choices of fish and meat including Iguana. All kind of mixed servings are possible. Food is served on a long metal plate divided... More

I arrived in a foul mood and asked to see a menu 3 times after being seated. We got our drinks before seeing a menu and as I was just about ready to get outta there Jaanchi, the owner comes and sits down at our table and asks us where we are from and starts to reccomend dishes. The owner... More

We were told by a local that it was a touristy type place but we decided to stop for lunch anyway. There is no menu and the owner (I think) stops by your table and tells you the few things that are available but he doesn't tell you the prices. We ordered the chicken and my husband ordered the fish.... More

We stopped at Jaanchies while on a tour in Curacao. Our guide recommended it for a nice, local lunch and she was right. There is no menu.....the owner stops at each table to explain what is available. The highlight was apparently iguana stew but we went with fish and conch. Both were prepared very nicely. This is a family run... More

Atmosphere was great....a large map and small map of Curacao adorn one wall for lunch time "here's where we were" chattings...it took a few minutes to scare up a server and the owner came over and told us what our choices were....I went with a Conch fish main, and others had grouper which was also awesome...fresh, local not heavy and... Easy to miss when you're driving through town. Parking across the street. Causal atmosphere, I assume authentic Curacao. Birds, cats, sleeping dog outside. Jaanchie, the walking talking menu, is quite charming and fun. We tried local dishes including iguana (tasty but very bony), conch and shrimp. In the end we were surprised by the cost so ask when your considering... More

Beware of ordering here without asking how much you're going to pay, because it is a place where they take advantage of tourists. We came here after reading about Jaanchies in an article about the best things to do in Curaçao. Unfortunately we made the mistake of not asking how much the dishes were, and ended up paying $50 for... More

Definitely not just a meal but an experience. We enjoyed watching the birds as we waited for our meal. After being charmed by Jaanchie and his walking talking menu he could hve sold us the island but we went with his suggestions for fish and a sample of iguana. Expecting that we would have to mortgage the house to pay... More

Rest was full but we got the last table. There was live music, evergreens and a lot Elvis. Very Nice food. Good atmosphere. Go There.
