We came here just at the start of the tourist season. Perhaps because the Samaria Gorge was still closed it appeared the restaurant was not operating at its full potential. We had nice cold starters and fresh sea bream for main. However the fish was slightly undercooked and the fried potatoes were very undercooked. The owner / waiter was really... More

This is like the best taverna of your mind. No stodge. No bits and bobs. Solid quality greek food home cooked and with focus on excellence. We had skordalia and dakos to start. They brought out the children's mains at this point too...spaghetti with tomato sauce. Our mains were stuffed tomatoes and moussaka and the kids shared/ignored a cucumber and... More

Recently we went with a couple of friends to eat in this restaurant. For me it was known.. I visited it many times. For the friends it was the first time. The food was ( again) greeat. We shared a couple of plates: a fresh green salad with myzithracheese and tomato with a beautiful dressing, auberginesalad, taramasalata, green beans in... More

We stay in Agia Roumeli for a few days. We expecting that the prices will be higher than averages in Creete - because everything need to be carried by ferry. The prices in Agia Roumeli are maybe a bit higher than averages, but there is a lot of taverns so they need to keep the same prices. The difference is,... More

I stayed the night in Agia Roumeli but unfortunately did not stay here. I came for dinner after reading the reviews, and was not at all disappointed. The wine leaves and zucchini blossoms were fantastic and authentic and tasted like an old grandma made them. The goat in the oven was hands down the best prepared goat I have ever... More

as soon as we got through the Samaria canyon, we searched for a cool place to eat and relax. We checked the area and we picked up Calypso. The waiter was friendly and the food was good although we have tried better Boureki in other areas of crete. Foreigners should eat the local cuisine as it is one of the... More

Everything in this small village is nothing short of cheap touristic traps and investments of no real value. This place stands out from the mediocracy that seems to have imprisoned this heavenly secluded natural oasis. Its decoration is simple but tasteful, making it feeling fresh and clean but not tacky. As we walked by, the young manager approached and greeted... More
