The village with its mediaeval tower is very attractive. This tavern has seating in the main street and in a garden at the side - tranquil, shaded and relaxing. One of the main advantages of this place is that is probably the only place for...food and drink open all year round. Thankfully our friends had found it in December and took us here in the scorching heat of August. and the shade was wonderful. The food too was very good and plentiful. It is a small place and they try very hard to cater for the many peaks of visitors all wanting food. It does not help that service has to cope with low branches, uneven ground and the limited internal area. The toilet is across the street for this restaurant! But I recommend it, just relax, have some patience and enjoy the ambience and appreciate how hard the staff are working.More

The place is very nice in terms of location but doing business with tourists is another matter. They advertise Italian aperitivo but you can have food only with alcoholic drinks and very small plates that is not what you are used to have in Italy....In addition when you go to pay it seems they are doing a favore to you and they do not know what to be kind means in particular if you are doing this job. Sorry but a very nice place is not enough at all!!!More

Had dinner here one evening when visiting Populonia. It’s just inside the walls of the town and is a good spot for food and a drink. We treated ourselves to some cocktails before dinner in their garden area and we were given a nice platter...of salami, cheese and bread...very tasty. Dinner itself was good also and we all left satisfied and full.More

Nice good food, the pork pasta was very nice, my wife ate a Tuscan vegetable / potato mix and she liked it. Very friendly service also and well priced if you don't mind the 1.5€ service fee per person. Cafe fredo is an espresso shot...with an ice cube in it... I like the Greek fredo better which includes some liquid sugar and whole milk.More

Unassuming restaurant in a lovely setting. We couldn't get in to the nicer looking place in the same village so ended up here. The service was slow but they had wonderful traditional dishes like ribolita and pappardelle de cinghiale. Ended up being really pleased with...our second choice :)More

Had an excellent lunch at this beautiful location. Waitresses are friendly also to kids but they seem to be quite busy. All the food was excellent. Lasagne, salads, melon with ham. Perfect. The toilet is at the other side in number 5. Take some time...(our lunch took around 1.5hrs which was indeed quite long) because we think it's worth it.More

A really lovely find- my wife and I stopped here for lunch and where very pleasantly surprised by the lovely atmosphere in the secluded Taverna garden, and good service at a reasonable price. The overall setting is very beautiful- Surrounded by an ancient archaeological town...that goes back nearly 3000 years. The views from the top of the hill are quite stunningMore
