Spoilt totally with beautiful weather and aperitif served outside in the beautiful gardens/terrace.. followed by meal with immaculate but friendly service. It was exquisite food, beautiful environment although unstuffy despite the luxury and country house feel. A great event...

Went for lunch for my partners Birthday, from the moment we set foot inside we were treated as 5* guests, amazing service from everyone. My partner even had her own personalised menu -this was a complete surprise. Drinks faultless, Wine superb, Canapes in the lounge overlooking Rutland Water. Lunch was excellent from the delicious Celeriac and apple amuse bouche right... More

We went to Hambleton Hall for my wife's "special" birthday and really enjoyed the experience. Situated on a peninsular overlooking Rutland Water it is well positioned although on our visit the weather was very murky. Great gardens for a summer visit. The hotel oozes comfort and gives the feeling of a 1920's Country House weekend with log fires and sumptuous... More

I was taken to Hambleton Hall as a birthday treat for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised how informal and friendly the restaurant is. We were not rushed and although the restaurant appeared to be fully booked the food and service could not have been any better. We were very impressed with the tastes and quality of our starter and... More

We had a family meal and the food was excellent. There were different menu options which we had chosen before, and all of the dishes were VERY good. The raw ingredients, the cooking very good - and fully deserves its star, and probably more - eg my venison was perfectly cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. And it is not... More

Because we were a largeish party a set menu was provided with limited options (choices of 3 for starters, mains and desserts) The food was as good English cooking as we have eaten anywhere. Thoroughly recommended.

Expensive, but well worth it. You are made to feel special and the food is out of this world: please go, if only for a special occasion.

We had the three course a la carte menu and we were delighted with the quality of the food. We both had venison as the main course which was cooked to our liking (one medium rare and one medium) and the sommelier recommended an excellent wine to go with it. What really impressed me was the expertise of the serving... More

Our expectations were very high for this evening meal visit. There was not a single second of disappointment. We were struck by the elegance of the building but the welcome was warm and inviting. We decided not to opt for the tasting menu, as we identified dishes within the menu that we wanted to fully experience. The complete meal was... More

We drove for over an hour through the fog to get here for lunch, but it was well worth it. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted a memorable meal, and it certainly was! Pre lunch Champagne and canapes were enjoyed leisurely by a roaring fire. Our lunch was delicious. Between us we ate crab, red mullet, veal and sweetbreads.... More
