From J Boy of Derby Nice tea rooms set in the picture post card village of Hartington. Food was good, service quick and efficient. Outside tables and chairs available if the weather is good. Unlike some of the other reviews I found the staff helpful and friendly.

A surprising and unique tea room! We stopped for a coffee at the end of a long walk and were delighted we chose Beresford Tea Rooms. The table we were seated at was tucked into an alcove and so it didn't feel like you were sat in either a post office or a gift shop - but that's where we... More

The tearoom is quaint; the cakes looked great, but I asked for fruit cake, which wasn't on show. When it came it was dry, and lacking in taste. A bit sad really, as I was really looking forward to a cup of tea and a piece of fruit cake. Would go again, but will have one of the cakes that... More

Ate a late lunch here after a long walk. Staff very friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere. Had eggs on toast/standard breakfast. Everything cooked to perfection. Eggs in particular were obviously farm fresh with creamy orange yolks. Good menu selection from cakes and cream teas to more substantial meals. Would definitely visit again.

We were working in the area and called in for a bite and cup of tea. The staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered a toastie and toast with butter. The service was excellent and quick. My ham and cheese toastie was delicious. My laptop battery had a fault and were able to " plug in " A big thank... More

Called here for coffee, cream scones & to rest our weary bones whilst walking around the Hartington area... Indoor seating mainly, with a couple of picnic benches outside, suitable for customers with dogs. Packaging from former customers hadn't been cleared away and as a result was littering the street. Staff seemed quite stressed, yet the ratio to customers didn't seem... More

We finished a lovely Peak District walk in Hartington and selected the Beresford Post Office and Tea Rooms at random from the 3 or 4 cafes within a few hundred yards of each other. Hartington is an old village with some nice buildings and is therefore a tourist attraction, although it was fairly quiet on the afternoon we were there... More

Hartington is a bit of a chocolate-box village, and you feel the influence of the principal landowner, the Duke of Devonshire. Everything is tasteful and neat. This is good news. But this kind of thing often brings inflated "posh" prices. What a delight therefore to find these Tea Rooms doing a reasonably-priced and efficient job. Well done. Will call again... More
