We dined early on a sunny day and were seated at a window table in a corner overlooking all the hikers sweating as they climbed up the "Grind". Food was better than I expected since many restaurants in scenic locations get by selling the view...More

So the observatory is a nice restaurant but the magic resides in the gondola ride and the spectacular view if you are lucky enough to score a good table. I was our first time and a couple on North Vans tooks us out, very nice...More

Brought my wife here while we were in Vancouver last weekend. I had been before for business, but she had never been up Grouse Mountain so I thought the experience could be pretty cool for her. Going up the tram to get to dinner and...More

The whole experience was memorable. Gondola ride to top has incredible views. Lots to do or just walking and viewing Vancouver below is wonderful. We had a table right at the window. Wine was great and not over priced. My husband and I both had...More

Spent late afternoon and evening at a business reception at The Observatory after a long day in a windowless conference room. What a spectacular, positively refreshing experience to drive to North Vancouver and take the cable gondolas up to the lodge-like establishment. The dining rooms...More

The gondola ride affords a spectacular view of greater Vancouver, particularly at night, with the shimmering lights. Once atop the mountain, the greenery of the magnificent trees and the fresh air is exhilarating and one is just steps from the wonderful restaurant. Surely, one should...More

The style in which the food was served was imaginative and artistic, if somewhat minimal in its portions. My lamb was overcooked and the pulled lamb nest underneath the chunks of very well-done meat were like tough string. My wife's kale which formed the basic...More

The dinner was average at best. Had to send back the lamb as it was ordered medium rare and came well done. Second try was not much better, still over cooked. Would not recommend as the service and food was not worth the cost.

We decided to eat here as that way we got the trip to the mountain included in the price - ie almost $100 subsidy on our meal! And the meal was delightful, the serving staff friendly and organised, and the wine list excellent. My lamb...More

Interesting journey to the Observatory for dinner. Being all dressed up for dinner, it was fun to be in the same incline with hikers. Once having arrived we were ushered to our table with a beautiful view of Vancouver, BC. Although there still was a...More

Hi We are visiting Vancouver 1st - 5 June 2017 wanting to visit Grouse Mountain, and have dinner at the peak. Do you need bookings and if so how far in advance should we book?? Also best ideas on public transfers from Downtown Vancouver, i understand there is a shuttle bus that runs, but not sure of its schedules. Thanks

Yes there is a shuttle bus from DT. Make reservations ahead of time, maybe 2 weeks to 1 month ahead of time. If you have dinner at the Peak it will include the gondola fee so make sure you look that up when you make... More
