While the Cobourg directory lists plenty of restaurants, several of them are now closed, a few offer only breakfast & lunch, a disproportionate number are ethnic, and a lot of them are fast-food or takeout joints. I'm not saying that they aren't good restaurants - they were just not what we were looking for - i.e. a family restaurant serving... More

Heard about this place when we were in Dominican Republic. Decided we had to go for a quick pint and snack on our way to Toronto. We had the nachos which I would have to say were the best nachos I've ever had! Looking forward to another visit!

On the occasion of her 81st birthday, I was stumped: What do you do to add a surfeit of happiness to someone you've loved passionately for 62 years - and been married to for 62-1/2? Then I recalled a few years ago, while at the Cobourg Highland Games, we'd had dinner at an English-style pub, The Cat & The Fiddle... More

We recently had lunch here and were glad we did. The beer was nice and cold and the food was hot and plentiful. We had the cheese steak sandwich which was loaded with meat, as well as having cheese and onions. Along side that was a heap of fries and some coleslaw. The helpings are generous and the waitress was... More

If you want a cozy English pub, with traditional U.K. Fare, this is the place to go! Since discovering The Cat and the Fiddle, we have gone back again and again. The Yorkshire chicken, and traditional Beef Yorkshire are so delicious! The serving staff have always been friendly and the food has always arrived quickly. We can't wait to go... More

Beer excellent and a good range available. Food so so at best. I hade the Shepard's pie and it was pretty tasteless to be honest. Ambience a bit fake with too much stuff on the walls making it feel anything but like a British pub.

Have eaten here before had a wonderful time first time around, live music to be had, band paying ode to the Beatles. This time we had Lunch. Aaron out server, friendly polite great lady it seems. Same atmosphere. A little quaint reminder of the old English pub/Eatery for those who's had the Luxury of visiting... We started with drinks... Settled... More

My husband and I went with another couple for dinner at around 5:30pm on a Saturday night. We got a table for four by the door. Luckily we got there when we did as they were getting pretty busy. Not too big inside, but the deco is wonderful. Felt like we stepped back in time to an old pub in... More

Large private protected patio. Great service and food. Someone working there has a green thumb. The perimeter walls of the patio is a cascade of vines and flowers. Beautiful setting.
