I sat at the bar and got the Rudder's pear and raspberry vinaigrette salad and their clams and fries plate. The clams were okay but not the best I've ever had. The fries were the frozen type and I barely touched them. The salad was...good. I had a frozen lime daiquiri that was way too sweet -- tasted more like a 'slushie' that you buy at an Irving gas station. I had a sample of their Yarmouth Town Brown ale, which was very good - should have gotten that instead. The place was in a frenzy on a Monday night in late May, before their peak season, because several people were stuck in Yarmouth due to the wildfires in Halifax and Barrington Passage.More

Amazing food, location and staff. You absolutely cannot find a better view than the patio at Rudders. The fresh seafood is outstanding and the staff was amazing. I’ll be back again soon!! Their microbrews are delicious also!!

Interesting brewpub on the water in Yarmouth. They brew a number of their own beers (I had a flight) and have a full service restaurant with pretty typical pub offerings. Beers were OK (not as good as their Heritage competitor in town) but still drinkable....Quite popular with the local folks who kept streaming in the door. I will return a try a meal one day.More

You will be greeted by with the harried enthusiasm of a carnival barker manager with the elite air of being in a very busy high end restaurant. You will notice it it is not more than a grubby pub that gets whipped off occasionally. Once...seated we were waited on by an excellent attentive poor fellow whom I would have apologized to if I had not been irritated to the extreme by the manager. The pathetically tired food did not improve my mood to make it at all a satisfying experience. I could not leave fast enough to seek out someplace to rinse my pallet and calm me with a double Lagavulin. Spare yourself immediately and leave or if you must be adventuresome have a bottled beer and a burger. Skip the Burger and have another beer with a rum chaser.More

We hit Rudders with a party of eight. Our server was awesome. The beer samplers amongst us were super impressed. I had lobster with a delicious Greek salad. It was excellent. My son, Lucas, devoured his “melt in the mouth” calamari. I didn’t pay enough...attention to any other dishes but everyone loved what they ate. I’m only visiting briefly and will be back at Rudders before I leave.More

me and my friends went out to eat(4 of us) and it took 2 and a half hours to get our food, this was OK but would have liked to have a heads up that it was going to take that long. I would have...appropriated if the server said hi guys we are falling behind, so it will take longer then usual. Our server was very kind and the food was very good. Overall good experience.More

Just off the afternoon CAT ferry and need a decent meal? Then this is your place. Located just down the street from the ferry terminal, we have been there twice now, and both times we were pleased with the service and the food. Tasty!

Decent menu in a great setting, they have a patio overlooking the water and marina. Service was excellent and prices seem fair. All in all, a nice place and atmosphere as well.

If I could only give 0 star review I would but this is by far my worst experience here! Coming in to the restaurant greeted by the nice old guy and we were sat by the booth. The server’s expression was not happy and did...not even greet us (tall, blonde and with glasses guy) Server did not even bother asking how our food was and our steak was cooked well done. We were not going to give any tip however, we still kinda felt bad about leaving without any. Gave him 15% of tip from an $85 bill and whispered to the girl by the stairs how disappointed and made dun of our tip! SO RUDE. Just because we are asians, we did not even get the same treatment with the guest next to us by the booth. This is a disappointment and will never recommend this place just because of the server. Just left the place now and it’s really upsetting. Please do something about him.More

Apart from a pair of seasonal stalls, this is the only waterfront eatery in Yarmouth. It's large by SW Nova standards, with an outdoor deck as well. There's plenty of parking. It's actually a brew pub, so if you like your beer you will appreciate...this as a bonus. The food is good with all the Maritime standards and then some. Rudder's is open all year round and popular with locals. You can't really go wrong with a casual lunch or dinner here.More

Delicious! We had lunch on 9/17/22 - cold lobster sandwich with mayo and french onion soup. Excellent! Then dinner on 9/17/22 fish cakes and the pan fried scallops. Both were delicious. Very busy, pleasant pub-like atmosphere. Wait staff at each meal were polite, friendly and...accommodating. It was worth being stuck in Yarmouth because the Cat couldn't go due to high winds!More
