Local Hidden Gem! Best in town.

Large portions. Seafood platter is huge! Casual atmosphere. Super friendly waitresses and kitchen staff. The fish is simply delicious; cooked by someone who knows how fish/seafood should be cooked. Fish and chips is very popular, as the haddock is lightly battered and always fresh. Undoubtedly, the best place in Yarmouth to get seafood… the local kind of seafood; fresh and home-cooked!

Very delicious and great price

Decided to stop by and was super impressed with my chicken salad sandwich with 2 huge scoops of mashed potatoes. My husband had the 3 piece fish and chips, so very good, generous portions, delicate batter on fish. Friendly waitress, place looked very good. I'm a fussy person but we'll be going back! and giant cream puffs for $2.95!!

New name Harvs Diner - still great food!

Super impressed that despite our large order for six people, everything came out at the same time and hot. The batter for the seafood platter and fried chicken is very light. Definitely go for the seafood platter, it was delicious. The fried chicken is good too but the seafood is the ticket, not over cooked and everyone who had it at our table loved it. Well priced. The building has a rough exterior, but the interior is much better.

Traveling through Yarmouth mid Sept. Unpretentious place on outskirts of town. Very friendly waitress . Lightly battered shrimp and haddock were delicious. Very reasonable prices.

Diamond in the rough

We were visiting Yarmouth for the night and wanted to eat where the locals ate, our Air BnB hostess recommended Mern’s and wow! was she right. Mern’s is an basic restaurant with great service (Laura was super friendly) and fabulous food. We ordered the seafood platter for two and the lobster poutine. The platter has haddock, clams, shrimp, sea scallops and a creamy lobster sauce while the poutine has large chunks of lobster, cheese and the creamy lobster sauce. For dessert my husband had the coconut cream pie and I had the peanut butter pie - both were home made and the pieces were large (I couldn’t finish mine it was so big, but it was great for breakfast the next day). Our meal came to $55 Mern’s is worth a visit if you find yourself in Yarmouth looking for an affordable and great tasting meal.

Excellent service, super fresh seafood, don't pass this gem by!

I went here with three friends yesterday and I'm hooked! Do not judge a book by it's cover, this is not a fancy restaurant but the food is the real deal, we shared lobster poutine and regular poutine and the seafood platter, delicious mounds of lightly breaded seafood and charming Maritime service. The seafood platter fed the four of us and we took 4 boxes of food home. The homemade pies look amazing, we will be going back! A great find!

Whatever you order you will have lots of great food. Thurs Boiled Dinner, Friday Salt fish Day and lots of other choices and the staff is very friendly...

Huge portions. Fresh seafood.

Huge fresh portions of seafood. You will not leave hungry. Friendly staff and service. Limited bar menu but good selection. Some of the BEST deserts you will have at ANY diner. I really love the character and ambience of this local favourite. A place for everyone. Love it.

We keep coming back here periodically and we're never disappointed. The food is always very good, the prices are very reasonable and you get enough food on your plate that you probably will ask for a doggie bag like many diners who eat there.

One of my fav seafood and pie place of all time...i absolutely LOVE Merns! The owner is so nice and she makes the most amazing pies..they look incredible and taste amazing!! I tool my Albertan boyfriend there during his visit..he asked the owner about her smoked salmon and egg sauce as he had never heard of egg sauce before. Next thing we knew..she brought out a generous sample side for him to try and he loved it and all the other food he tried. Fav place for clams still... Cannot wait till summer to go back!

Filthy! Food is disgusting! Dishes are dirty! My silverware looked like it was run over in the parking lot. Extractor unit looks like it could catch fire on the outside of the building. Just keep driving past...do not recommend.
