I went to Yorky's for the first time in a while. I was surprised at the prices of the food. For sitting in the heart of one of Canada's greatest seafood areas, surely fish can be bought a little cheaper than it was being sold for. Overall my meal was fine. I've eaten here before and found it less greasy... More

This was our first introduction to great fish and chips when we first went to the Island. So you can imagine my disappointment when we returned a couple of weeks ago with a friend from the Mainland to have fish that was not cooked ... there was no apology or reduction in price ... which we did not make a... One of us had the onepiece halibut and chips, and I had the Seafood platter. The platter was very good....delicious oysters (although lots of batter). Portions rather small for the price. The halibut was very nice......but $15 for one piece?. Supposed to be unlimited french fries but the owner/waiter never actually asked us if we wanted more......we had to do... More

We tried the Captain's platter. It consists of 1 piece of halibut, cod and haddock each. All three fishes were not oily and the amount of batter was just right to be crispy. The fish were fresh and flaky. We really enjoyed the fish. The chips that came with it are not too oily as well. We enjoyed the coleslaw... More

Not fancy, but solid good fish & chips!!! Very friendly, large portions, small space through...I did think their batter was very different than any i'd had before. In a good way. :)

I don't think I can say that I have ever had a cut of halibut that was this fresh! Thick flaky and tasted sooooo good. I thought I've had good fish before but this place takes the medal. My friend and I ordered one halibut dinner and a haddock dinner so we can try both cuts of fish and they... More

Got there just after the advertised opening time, and the door was open, but they were not yet ready. Guy comes by saying he was called in to cover and was just getting the fryers warmed up. However, he let us sit and offered to put on the coffee while he worked on getting things set up. Waitress showed up... More

I really like the fish and chips in this restaurant however ithe restaurant could do with some TLC. The french fries are home made which I expect but don't always get in Fish and Chip shops.

Stopped in for lunch, 1pm Monday. Little place in Shoppers Drug Mart strip mall. Not busy, pleasant waitress. Had 2 pc Halibut 'n chips. Comes with coleslaw. No alcohol available. Ate inside, but take-out also available. Excellent batter on fish! Fries were crispy, & fresh...My 2 pc order ended up being 3 pc. Pleasant surprise! Could hardly finish it all,... More
