This place has been here forever - probably 50 years or more. And it's your best bet for a traditional Quebec friterie (French fries and other fried deliciousness) it's a lunch counter/diner in the best sense. Fries are dark and slightly crisp on the outside, and melt in your mouth soft inside. Hot dogs come with your choice of toasted... More

Best french fries in town and at the best price. Service is very friendly and charming. Business hours are also very accommodating.

Chez Paul has been around for a very long time. It has fed me many late night munchies that definitely not needed but well appreciated.

This is a small/quaint diner with maybe 8 tables and bar stools looking over the kitchen. Plenty of parking on the street. The service was fantastic — Fast and friendly! We all had poutine (of course!) and my hubby had a burger as well. The medium poutine portion was rather large (we were unable to finish) and the burger was... More

Was surprised that they only accept cash. The sauce is lumpy and VERY greasy. I like poutine just as much as the next person but theirs was not good. The reason why I gave it 2* rating is that there's a lot for your money.

My 12 yr old son and I stopped in at Chez Paul for a hamburger and Poutine. The poutine was some of the best we've had with LOTS of cheese. The staff was also friendly and kind as we struggled with practicing our limited french language skills. Once back home in Ontario, I realized we had left something behind and... More

It is a small "hole in the wall" that you can easily pass on your way to a restaurant with more curb appeal; however, for a small diner, food is affordable and very good. I was born in Magog and I used to go to their take-out counter when I was in high school, more than 40 years ago. I... More

For being in Magog for 1 year, we tryed manny restaurants. Cantine Paul remain our favorite. We often pick up after a long day, for a quick and good snak. The service is impecable, the plates (no matter what you order) are verry generous, and the food excellent, try their smook meat... Wow. This is not a "snobish" restaurant with... More

I was in the area with friends and craved poutine, and we headed to Paul's based on tripadvisor reviews. No one should expect a healthy lunch when they want to eat poutine - and this was not - but it was delicious. Restaurant was very clean, and staff friendly, so a worthwhile stop.

Sure this place has good ratings but do not expect much, just another greasy spoon. Food is ok. Fries are sometimes bad if they have not changed their oil in a while. No Coke there, only Pepsi, if you care. I like their poutine.
