We had heard about their prime rib dinner so wanted to try it for ourselves. Two of us had the prime rib dinner, which was wonderful, according to my friend "one of the best ever", and I had calamari with tzatziki, and a spinach salad, also very good. The staff were prompt, attentive, and professional, and the food was excellent;... More

We'd heard so much about this restaurant that we made the drive from Nanaimo up to Qualicum Beach to try it. This was the night before our early morning flight home, and we drove up because we wanted to see if the hype is justified. IT IS!!!! I can't say enough about this place!! The building looks like a quaint... More

We have been through Qualicum Beach many times but this was our first time at Fish Tales Cafe. If I could give it 6 stars I would. It surpassed all expectations. The decor of the restaurant was excellent. Clean, well maintained, cozy English pub atmosphere, everything you would want for a comfortable dinner out. The service was absolutely fantastic. The... The service here us exemplary. We were seated promptly by the hostess who recommended an excellent wine for the evening. Our waiter was a gentleman named Deryk who was attentive, witty and personable. We had calamari and premium cod with seriously good chips. The mesclun salad (includes fresh pears walnuts and bleu cheese) with added seafood is a great choice... More

The food was average and reasonably priced, however the carpet is so old it made the place feel dirty - not to mention the washrooms which are quite disgusting. we won't be back as we can get 'average fish and chips' in a much cleaner environment.

Thank you for your review. You could not have eaten here as our carpets have been completely renovated and modernized a year ago. As for our bathrooms they were gutted to the studs and remodelled this past year in the spring. Please refer to our Facebook page for pictures. Regards, Management. More

Four of us visited; our first time but a return visit for the other couple. Scones were considered excellent as was the lingcod. My halibut was terrible; lacked flavor and the texture was not like good fish. My fries were bland; only ate a few. All four of us visited for the chowder; the bowls were small for the price,... Love the quiet quaint atmosphere off the beach but nicely located and great food at reasonable prices plus friendly staff and super seafood everything good here.We take all our visitors here and they always want to go back . It's on the north end of the beach so easy to miss which you will regret if missed. Clean comfortable and... More

Stopped in without reservation on a Wednesday. They were short staffed but service remained very good. Food was once again excellent, Especially the seafood chowder. The wife's cannelloni seemed a little light on the seafood. But overall very good = as usual.

Whenever we want to go out in the summer and autumn with our dogs,we like to stop here because we can take them to the garden area where we can sit peacefully at a shaded table and enjoy the great fish and chips.

Finally had the chance to check out Fish Tales. We went for a mid-week lunch. It was quite quiet. Restaurant is really cute, a British Pub decor. Staff was friendly and helpful with menu. Decided on the grilled halibut meal and a salad with chicken. Both were very good. The best was the homemade herbal scone that came with the... More
