If you like Mexican food you will like the Lazy Gecko. Good simple food at great prices. The Burrito is big enough to share.

Homemade salsa every morning from fresh ingredients, a genuine Mexican running the kitchen according to his mamas recipes in Guadalajara, awesome view from the veranda.

I had tacos with refried beans and rice and my guest had a burrito. It was the biggest burrito I had ever seen. All the food was delicious. The only thing I could nit pick about was the warmish beer which came from a keg which probably wasn't properly cooled. A refrigerated glass would of made the difference.

Was in the area for the weekend. Checked out the list of restaurants and thought we would give it a try. I just felt that the dishes didn't have enough seasoning. How about some cilantro? How about some salsa? I ordered a spicy burrito and ended up with no heat. There is hot sauce on the table which was used... More

Great service, friendly and cheery. We all had big burritos, they were very good and at a good price. It was a welcomed meal after a big hike.

Fairly bland food. Passable if you are hungry, but nothing outstanding. No bonuses like chips and salsa prior to the arrival of the food. You grab a menu on the way in, seat yourself, and the wait staff, eventually, take your order. The offerings are very limited- burritos, quesadilla, tacos- but not fish- with chicken, ground beef, pulled pork, and... More

We have eaten here a few times since my last review. Still good. Missed us a couple of times as they still close at 7. Enjoyed it as much as first time. Understand it is NOT a high end place. Not meant to be... Relaxed, good food. Nice option to have in Sooke. We visit Mexico twice a year and... More
