We recently were on a trip through Radium BC to Vernon BC for Thanksgiving.. we stayed over night 8n Radium and had dinner at the Old Salzburg. We have eaten here many times over many years and the standard of service and quality of food...never ceases to please and impress . They are always so welcoming with individual attention to each table no matter how busy they are. The owner and waitresses always check back to make sure everything is ok while we never making guests feel rushed. This is definitely a dining pleasure and a must each time we visit Radium.More

After a long hike in the Kootenays we stopped by the Old Salzburg for dinner. We were unable to get seated immediately but made reservations an hour later. No problem as we could go back to our lodging and clean up. We returned and had...a wonderful dinner! Wait staff was very courteous. Our food was hot (a big + for me), excellent Austrian beer, and one of the best wienerschnitzels I've ever had!More

We made a reservation a few weeks prior as our family was making a trip to Radium to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday. We were super excited to eat a German meal for the celebration as we had lived in Germany for 3 years and...loved every minute of it. When we first arrived we were ignored at the front entrance for a bit…but when acknowledged we were taken to our reserved table immediately. Pretty disappointed to find our reserved table was beside the woman’s bathroom and other patron were enjoying tables with windows and nice views. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before we were acknowledged by our waitress. My daughter wanted the Schnitzel Oscar but asked to change the bernaise to peppercorn gravy on the side and was told “NO… the chef won’t do that” ??!!! What?! Who cares?? What does she care. In the end…my husband ordered the peppercorn and my daughter ate that instead of the bernaise . So stupid. Our food came out cold. The spatzel had no flavour and was stone cold. The schnitzel was dripping oil. All in all. Not worth the $200 bill for a table of 4. Save your money.More

This was our second visit to this great German restaurant. The second time did not disappoint. We had the schnitzel and it was excellent. The service was good, no complaints other than we were originally seated beside a rather loud and annoying female customer. I...asked to be moved and was was obliged immediately. Highly Recommend!More

Coming from the UK, I tried to book on line but the only option was e mail. When clicking the link I got a personal e mail address, which I did not expect, so I stopped. This meant that when we did try to get...in, we had to wait 50 minutes for a table. Then a 20 minute wait for service. We were looked after by a very apologetic server who explained that they were short staffed due sickness. She was great, very bright, smiling and cheerful and looked after us very well. As in the title, the schnitzel was great and well worth the wait - if you go, you must try it. The let down was the guy in an Austrian style jacket (I suspect he was the owner) who spent the whole evening flapping around and not achieving anything. He was the person who SHOULD have been to us and others apologising for the service delay, but it did not happen. Then , when we left, I made the effort to say to him how good the food was , to which the response was a sort of 'hurumph' noise. A real shame that I have to say this, the hard work of the server was badly let down.More

We had the most incredible meal, I was nervous to try something new and almost ordered steak out of convenience, but I decided to try the Jagerschnitzel and I have to say it was one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life!...We finished it off with Apple strudel and raspberry cheesecake! Highly recommend it! The service was amazing as well!More

First time & with a group of 8 for a local birthday party. Was really good. Good portions. Just a bit overpriced. I plan on going back but in smaller group. 2 or 4. Then I’ll repost another review. Hope this helps someone out.

We had dinner here on the patio, Service was great, although they did seem rushed. Food was excellent and very authentic, just like my Oma and mom make. Price was reasonable for a tourist town. Short walk from many of the hotels and motels.

The food was spectacular. Spaetzle just like my mother used to make. The Jagersnitzel was superb. My partner's mushroom schnitzel was just as amazing. The Austrian beer and the apple strudel just rounded out a perfect dining experience.
