I decided to take a night off from cooking so we checked the various restaurant reviews online and decided to go with the Wigwam. We ordered various dishes so we could all share and I must say, everything was great. We had chow mein, almond chicken, sweet and sour pork and deep fried prawns.

The sweet and sour pork and chow mein lunch special contained literally three small pieces of pork and a thin serving of chow mein. The soy sauce tasted too strong so ruined the overcooked noodles. So bad that I should have walked out without paying and donated to a charity instead of throwing money away.

This is where the grand parents and parents take their kids. Personable owner, that recognizes families.

With a name like Wigwam, you wouldn't expect fantastic Vietnamese food, but you'll find it at the Wigwam. The Canadian food is fine, classic greasy spoon stuff, Chinese food is reasonable, but what shines is the Vietnamese. And there are so many choices! I'm drooling thinking about it. Mmmm

This restaurant was such a surprise n our trip to Vancouver Island - we liked the food so much we ordered extra to take home. The ambience is ordinary, but the food was some of the freshest and most authentic we've had anywhere.

We went to this restaurant many times and then the food was not as good as usual. It has now improved again and is better with a varied menu.

People have told me around town how good the food was here.....Guess I went in a bad day! Most of what we had was on the cold side and tasted very tacky, the rice was almost of a congealed texture. Not the best value for my dollar and the restaurant was not as clean as it could be, so maybe... More

My favorite Vietnam food, restaurant on the Island, (genuine) ! Other Asian dishes are very good here too. Nice quiet downtown setting, comfortable surroundings friendly staff & excellent cook. Totally reasonable prices as well. Don't understand the negative reviews (some people can't be pleased by anythings), go see for yourself, you will not be disappointed !!
