A post Christmas drive into the countryside to this quintessential oak beamed village pub for my Mother's birthday was well worth it. On arrival we were greeted by very pleasant staff and shown to our table. The menu was varied with something for everyone including vegetarian options. The classic prawn crayfish and smoked salmon cocktail with artisan bread starter was... More

Visited last summer and had a drink in the garden which had fabulous view. I would not usually have commented but having read other reviews, something needs to be at this pub/restaurant before it goes even further downhill. Visited for a drink today and service was poor. Waited too long at an empty bar for service. When I was served,... More

I'm not local have been here years ago. It was warm and cosy and the food was excellent and presentation immaculate. We were served promptly and efficiently but could have been a little more attentive for ordering drinks but overall well worth a visit and not disappointed at all. 5☆☆☆☆☆

we booked the King William for a special birthday treat for my wife, all the family getting together. Firstly the bar, a busy Sunday lunchtime, only 1 or 2 serving. I asked for what I consider a common drink - whisky and ginger ale (also known as dry ginger) gave be a bottle of ginger beer. Explained not right, people... More

Cane in after best part of two hour walk with the dog looking for a pint and a snack lunch. Had to wash out the outdoor dog bowl before we could fill it for the dog. Told by very slow and unhelpful barman that they only did Sunday lunches and children's menu - their lighter bite menu was not available.... More

Booked a table for 7pm arrived a bit late but this was not a problem at all after two of our family members got stuck in traffic driving from norwich! Very friendly bar man who took our drinks orders before a lovely girl took us to our table. The chicken cordon bleu was gorgeous! My sister even said her fillet... More

Booked via email, told them it was a special birthday. Asked for a lovely table. On arrival, not mentioned, couldn't find my booking at first and shown to a corner table devoid of atmosphere, no other diners nearby, surrounded by empty tables. Waitresses a plenty, all with shirts hanging out- very unprofessional for a place where main courses averaged £20,... More

We had a super lunch with my brother and sister in law on Friday. Food was excellent and service was good it turned a particularly nasty weather day into a pleasure day. My cordon blue chicken was good but couldn't manage to finish it. Well done King Bill.

Called into the King William IV for a business meeting lunch yesterday - I'm an occasional visitor over the years as I live over in Cambridge. Warm welcome from Steph and Jo behind the bar even though I was effectively a stranger. Quick and prompt service, the chicken tortilla wraps were phenomenal. The chef kindly swapped out chips for extra... More

Our 16th Century Inn is set in the heart of the glorious Cambridgeshire countyside yet only one hour's drive from London or twenty minutes from the beautiful University city of Cambridge.

We serve real ales and an excellent selection of bar meals. The restaurant is a perfect for a romantic evening for two or a party of up to 70. An excellent venue for business lucheon or dinner parties by arrangement.

Please note that our opening hours are slightly different to our serving hours.
