An impromptu lunch after shopping and not knowing this restaurant we weren't expecting much. This was one of the tastiest lunches I have had for ages. What a find. I had the sweet corn fritter topped with poached egg and it was absolute heaven. Fairly small place and not overly plush but an interesting restaurant and will be visiting again.

Ate here on Sunday with a friend for brunch. Lots of lovely choices but had the cinnamon toast with fruit and yogurt, which was delicious, plentiful and well presented. Lovely atmosphere and location overlooking north street. Only reason for 4 stars (not 5) is that I thought the service could have been warmer (it was almost stand offish and like... More

This is a good value, friendly and interesting restaurant conveniently placed for the Tobacco Factory Theatre (immediately opposite). We booked (it's not very big) for lunch before a Saturday matinee. The food was delicious (we had a somewhat eclectic mix of dishes as some of us were still waking up and wanted breakfast, and others wanted lunch). It's Moroccan inspired,... More

We visited here recently and I could not fault the food. We started with the Mezze plate with flatbreads which was plenty for 3 people and delicious. We had mechoui mutton and chicken souvlaki for our main courses which was very tasty. With a soft drink each the bill came to around £22 per person. The only negative I could... More

Stumbled on this place by accident, but glad we did. We visited on a Friday evening and it was busy, they managed to fit in, although with a time limit, but it was long enough for us. Booking is advised as others were turned away. Staff were friendly and attentive, offering advice. Nice ambience, fairly relaxed/informal. Food was delicious and... More

This is an eatery with a difference, informal ambiance, delicious food at very reasonable prices. We went on Sunday morning to treat ourselves to breakfast, their beans are really scrummy and the bread that's locally sourced is fabulous, especially toasted. A basket of mixed breads with a choice of jam/ marmalade was my choice which I thoroughly enjoyed and the... More

Unfussy and very efficient service from enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Lovely food. Mutton and chickpea main, and octopus mezze dish real highlights.

I had booked an early table at Souk Kitchen prior to a theatre visit. The weather was bad, City were playing at home which all added to the bad traffic conditions. I rang the restaurant to let them know we would be late. We arrived at Souk kitchen just one hour before the start of the theatre. The staff at... More

Highly recommend the sharing breads and dips to start - delicious. We then shared 5 meze between 2 for a main which was plenty as portions are large. Worth booking as the restaurant gets very busy. If you are hard of hearing, worth noting that it gets noisy.

Different food, different tastes, a whole new experience. It was very busy so suggest you book. The wine list is very avoidable and not as cheap as it should be. Drink Beer

Bright and colourful, the Souk Kitchen on North Street is a vibrant eatery that has brought a brand new style of dining to the Bristol restaurant scene. Encouraging people to share and to try new things, the menu at the Souk Kitchen is filled with small plates, mezze, dips, tagines, salads and grill dishes that are inspired by the traditional souks of Damascus, Marrakech and Beirut. Created using aromatic produce such as preserved lemons, tahini, honey and orange blossom, this is a stellar, moreish menu that you and your family and friends will love. The dcor at the Souk Kitchen is an eclectic mix of candy-coloured wallpaper and shelves stacked with ingredients including couscous, saffron and rosewater.
