We've been to Di Meo a few times and always enjoyed the family run atmosphere and great food but unfortunately our most recent trip has put us off for life. After finding a hair in my pizza (baked into the crust and protruding out) I discretely showed the owner who just chuckled and suggested it was probably just a fibre... More

As we are locals we eat at this long-established family run restaurant all the time. Reviews by others on here are spot on. Ignore the exterior & the fact that the interior is a tiny bit *dated*, rather than the copycat *cutting edge* which is to be found all over our city with overpriced bland food to match. Di Meo... The food is excellent with good specials. One of the best family run Italian restaurant better than the chains we have in UK. We always enjoy coming here when ever we are here. Thanks a lot to all @Dimeo

Nice people, good service, nice atmosphere, excellent food. The seafood risotto was as good as I've had anywhere. I had a mixed salad with it, which again was excellent. My partner had pollo alla masala with a side dish of peas and bacon, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had tiramisu and the banana/rum/cream/ice cream deserts. Wow. We found a... More

Do not be put off by the exterior; once through the door, the decor is that of the high quality restaurant this is. The food is excellent, service prompt and atmosphere cheerful. The pasta and veal I had were outstanding in quality and size of portion. The wine was not quite so good but all was very reasonably priced. Make... More

I really love this little slice of Italy on the Gloucester Road. It does feel like a genuine Italian restaurant because it is one... ... so I'm not going to go rambling on about individual dishes but I return once or twice a year because its NOT poncey Clifton, the prices are fair, the atmosphere is just sweet and I... Booked a table for me and my Mum. Easy to do and we were made very welcome on our arrival despite being a little late. Didn't expect it but the restaurant was full with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The service was quick and the food tasted great. I recommend the mussels and the meatballs. :-)

Whilst staying in Bristol for a couple of days we visited Di Meo and were very glad we did. The restaurant is small and unpretentious but often these are the ones that serve the best food. We enjoyed well-flavoured garlic bread, pizza and pasta dishes followed by desserts & coffee, all of which were freshly cooked and full of taste.... More

I've been there a couple of times and everything tasted very good. Antipasti are of very good quality and pizzas are tasty as well. The atmosphere is very Italian-like, with Italian music being played as well, to the point that you seem to be in the middle of whatever little town in Italy, instead of being on one of the... More

Di Meo is a small friendly Italian restaurant on the bustling Gloucester Road that serves tasty authentic Italian food. I ate there with a party of over 20 at 10.30 on a Friday night and, although they were not able to put us at adjoining tables due to a party lingering on, they accommodated us at two long tables. The... More
