We had great food - nachos, burgers, and chilli. I had the mackarel and sweet potato fries. Much better than some of the chains!

Went to the pub this evening. A pleasant place with well kept beer. Quiet this evening but it has an excellent itinerary for events. Will revisit for Sunday lunch at some point soon!

Difficult to believe, from the inside, that this pub is in the city. It's warm and cosy, has pleasant staff and a good selection of beers. I've not tried the food - maybe next time.

Great home made pub food, good beers and old fashioned charm. Have always loved this pub and glad to see that it’s still great.

Good range of ales (enjoyed Otter and Bath Gem beers), prices are okay and the food we had was pretty nice (giant dish of tortillas, chilli etc, some decent chips, a veg burger, which was a bit no-frills). More of a traditional pub than it...More

Our daughter took us here without realising it had changed hands. We had vegetarian roast, which consisted of veg with a puff pastry tart on top smothered in the most peculiar sauce. Potatoes were cold, dry and chewy, other veg was tasteless and tart undercooked....More

We visited the Hope & Anchor tonight and asked if they were still serving food. The barmaid asked a chap sitting at the bar and he inquired the time. Upon being informed it was 9.20pm, he said "no" to her and she told us she...More

Traditional pub, bridging the gap between Hotwells and Clifton. Nothing fancy, but a good place to grab a burger and a pint.
