I came here with the family as I remembered from 2 years ago the food was good and it was a dog (well behaved ones) friendly pub/restaurant. Nothing has really changed apart from the prices which like the rest of the world increase every year. Atmosphere at lunchtime was nice and relaxed and the decor doesn't hurt the eyes at... More

Having enjoyed the food at the Flyer on a previous visit, I was disappointed with today's Sunday lunch. Both the beef and pork in my mixed roast were overcooked (what a waste of a sirloin cut...), the vegetables so overdone I mistook carrots for sweet potato, and the potatoes tasted like they came from a frozen packet. The only redeeming... More

We go out for Sunday lunch a couple of times a month and this place is one of the best. If you are after quantity then probably not the best place to go but the quality and presentation are excellent. The bar and waiting staff are very friendly with great customer service. Definitely one of our regular Sunday lunch choices... More

My girlfriend and I popped to the flyer for a bite to eat. It was a pleasant surprise, the food was nice and the service was decent too. Moreover, the value was great!! Had a really nice dish for a very reasonable price... The people in there let the place down a bit as everyone seemed to speak a bit... More

Went here on the 26th Jan with a group of friends for a birthday party. The place was nearly empty even though it is on the busy Gloucester Road. We soon found out why. The food is very average and grossly overpriced. I had the chicken burger with a curry sauce and sweet potato fries, so a chicken burger and... More

Around 12 of us stopped for a drink and lunch, the pub was almost empty when we arrived. There was only one person serving at the bar, but our orders were taken efficiently. I ordered a pint of Gem (Bath Ales) which was excellent and Fish and Chips, with mushy peas. The chips were supposed to be triple cooked and... More

29 of us partied at the Flyer on a Friday evening in early December. We sat in a triangle formation of 3 tables at the back which suited us perfectly - before we ate and between courses we could enjoy our own space while still breathing in the happy pub atmosphere. Everyone agreed the food was really good, and there... More

Description
Up there with the best pubs in Bristol. The Bristol Flyer, as it's traditionally known, is a friendly pub on the Gloucester Road serving seriously good pub food and an array of speciality drinks more dizzying than our classic trompe d'oeil floor. Head for one of our cosy, relaxing sofas and you'll soon recover. As a venue we're versatile (like a potato but better) and well kitted out for both intimate dinners and group gatherings.
