Very enjoyable experience. Food excellent, service good. Location of the starters in the other room could have been thought out a little better, especially as it was through the only door in and out of the seating area.

Service starts at 17.30 on weekdays, so we chose the Bistro du Vin for an early dinner before a concert at Colston Hall, just around the corner. Steak with fries, and a dish of cod with salmon were well-executed and flavoursome; a side of deep-fried courgette with anchovy sauce was out of the ordinary and delicious. Copious and varied wine... So I had high expectations and they were mostly met. It is expensive but the food was lovely. I had a tiger prawn starter and a baked cod for main. The food was delicious. The service was also very good and friendly.

Great venue but the food was below all expectations. The fish soup was just heated and my main was drawning in oil. Tasteless. No value for money. Service didn't have enough knowledge. Such a disappointment for a Saturday night out.

Booked an afternoon tea - lovely selection of cakes and savouries. Particularly enjoyed the desert containing gin. Very attentive staff and a lovely relaxed feel. The hotel has really up its game with the afternoon tea from a previous visit and I cannot wait to go again.

Fantastic fixed price Sunday Lunch, don't eat breakfast before you go - you will be full. The French market table buffet style seafood, pates, salads, charcuterie, etc. is a lovely spread. One of the four courses on offer. The atmosphere is relaxed but smart, live jazz playing when we were there, the staff are friendly and attentive. Sunday roast beef... More

What a shame. Went expecting top quality food and service in the restaurant as had heard about Hotel Du Vin over the years. Unfortunately the service was confused and almost rude. The food was uninspired and basic not very well cooked ,which is not what was required at this price bracket.

We received this over night stay from a friend.. we arrived and we were greeted by Reception staff. The Receptionist Gemma, was very friendly and informative . Making myself feel very as ease. Escorting us to our suite and explaining The logistics of the Hotel. We were very impressed by the standard of the suite and the wonderful bathroom facilities... More

The 4 course Sunday lunch is fantastic, especially the fresh fish. Went there for our 1st Wedding anniversary and was treated to a celebratory glass of wine. Returned on my Wife's birthday and they made her feel special with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on her desert plate.
