Beautiful traditional Pub situated in a lovely part of England, It not only serves passing trade but is used by the local people. Very friendly and attentive staff It has an excellent menu range from good bar food to three course lunch. However, although my partner enjoyed his pizza my meal was not of a good standard. Salmon with noodles,... More

Friendly restaurant in an old pub. Excellent food in a comfortable setting. Lovely big fire in the winter and locals having a drink in the bar.

I have eaten here many times over the last few years for both business and family meals. The food is always of a good quality and the owners/staff are always very friendly. There are several different rooms/areas and it is possible to reserve a specific area for a semi private dinner or just soaking the atmosphere of a traditional pub.... More

We had some money for our golden wedding and thought we would go here for a meal. We had a lovely evening and while it was not cheap the food was really lovely. We had three courses and a bottle of wine, beautifully served and equally as well cooked. Would thoroughly recommend it if you want a nice night out.

My wife and I had lunch at this pub last Sunday which we enjoyed very much. The quality of the food and drink was very good with prices very reasonable. We have been to other pubs and restaurants for Sunday Lunch and this is right up there with the best in our opinion.

We meet approximately every quarter to put the world to rights and reminisce over times gone by, girls we knew and sporting achievements. It is always most enjoyable to see each other again. The landlord always looks after us exceptionally well.and finds us a nice table so that we can chat away without disturbing the other clientele. The food is... More

Good beer, good food, good atmosphere. Friendly staff (in the main). Ordering and waiting for your meal can be a bit slow, but they do say everything is cooked from fresh. The only pub left in the centre of the village.

Description
With the relaxed ambiance of an English country pub, an elegant menu made from local produce and plenty of room to breathe (and park) the Grouse & Ale is the perfect venue for a social occasion or an informal meeting/function that needs more than just biscuits and coffee. The entire bar and restaurant is WIFI and there are plenty of niches to relax in with open fires to banish any winter chills, come the summer, take your drinks outside into our secluded courtyard. We hope that you will feel able to relax in comfortable surroundings, secure in the knowledge that the service, drinks and food will be perfect – whatever the occasion; Sunday lunch, a romantic dinner or a business session.Gastro Pub of the Year - 2010Quite simply, we’re very proud of our food. Our approach to designing the menu, reflects our ethos – do the simplest things brilliantly well. Our daily specials reflect a table d’hôte offering to supplement the a la carte menu along with an extensive, informal menu at the bar. Wherever possible, our menus are created from locally sourced produce and meats.
