Me and some mates decided to go in there for lunch despite it being a Saturday and very busy. We sat at a bar table and ordered food. Very impressed with service speed and gorgeous food. Just has had a refurbishment (March 17) so well worth a visit.

Friday afternoon, we stopped off . The fresh smell of paint and the new decor look . We realised it had a new decorated feel . Staff were so friendly . What was lovely was the manager came and spoke to us like we were regulars even so only visiting from Essex . Highly recommend . Posh pub and perfect... More

We stopped in for an afternoon pint and to rest our feet after tramping around Cambridge. It turned out one of our group left his iPad which we did not discover until we were ready to leave town the following day. He retraced his steps to the various places we had been and thankfully the publican had put it in... More

I went to the Mitre on the Saturday evening about 7pm, prior to the refurbishment taking place on the Monday. Though realised that the beers would be limited, I was still hoping to get a decent pint. First of all there is a column splitting the bar in two. The barman appeared to be SLOWLY serving another customer on the... More

Hi Mick, I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience on Saturday. Unfortunately as you pointed out we were closing for refurbishment and it is necessary to hand the pub over with no beer left so it is inevitable that we would run out eventually.in regards to the pillar, it is difficult to see one end if you are... We stopped here for a quick bite last week and found an absolute gem. Pint and a Sandwich for £7.50. Good fresh tasty pint but the winner is the Prawn Cocktail Sandwich. Thick tasty soft Ciabatta, rammed with King prawns & a lovely sauce that soaks into the bread. Impossible to eat without 2 napkins, the best sandwich I've eaten... More

Excellent beer with nice choice of real ales and the food was very good. Service friendly although they could do with some training on UK Beer types

Part of the Nicholson group this lovely old Cambridge pub boasts a superb range of great ales and gins as well as traditional pub grub. On the drinks, the cellar is looked after very well indeed with excellent tasty and well kept ales. On the food, just lovely sausages and mash, and a great choice of local and born in... More
