To start with, it's important to say that the meal we had from Luk Thai came via Deliveroo and it's the first time we have used this service (and, on the basis of this experience, probably the last). Our meal of two starters, a stir-fry...and a curry arrived promptly. The Corn Fritters were soggy, under-seasoned and about 70% thick batter to only 30% corn; the Golden Bags were also pretty bland and dry in texture. Both starters were accompanied by dipping sauces that were unpleasantly gloopy and incredibly sweet. Prawn Pad Kra Pao contained a total of five prawns and some vegetables that were more braised than fried - not crispy or aromatic, or even particularly spicy. The red chicken curry was also insipid and bore no relation to any Thai curry we have ever tasted in Thailand or in the UK. Even if this had been a cheap meal we would have felt disappointed but given that it cost nearly £50 including delivery, tips etc., we feel pretty cross!More

We had the duck spring roll for a starter. It arrived promptly and fresh from the wok. It was the real deal, crispy and fragrant and piping hot. For our main we had the sweet and sour pork and the yellow chicken curry with jasmine...rice. Once again it arrived promptly and piping hot. The vegetables in the sweet and sour must have been shown to the dish moments before service and were crisp and juicy. This counts as one of the best Thai meals I have ever had. Thoroughly recommended.More

Visited on a Saturday night with my partner for her birthday. We chose the set menu and it was superb. Food was excellent one of the best Thai I gave eaten. Would love to live closer and make it a local restaurant.

Firstly, it must be said that The Cricketers serve up attractive, sapid food with great flavours and have a wide-ranging menu. Our food was dished up quickly and service was generally okay on that front. All good when you read this, however, I have to...be critical. For a starter, I ordered vegetarian spring rolls. This is because I am vegetarian. Disappointingly, I was served duck filled spring rolls. I am so thankful I did not swallow any of it (only because it was so hot!) I had to crack them open, but in doing so spotted the meat inside. All four of them were not what I ordered. Promoting the staff resulted in a muted apology and the spring rolls I wanted. Given there didn’t seem to be too much remorse at first, I needed to cajole the staff into appreciating this was not okay, and ultimately got a free pint of IPA as recompense. Wholly, though, this wasn’t great.More

We had Sunday lunch there. The food was great, the portions were nicely sized, the back garden was cozy and the staff were polite and friendly. We’ll definitely go back!

I have lived in Cambridge for 10 years and alway eat out with trepidation as the food is generally average to poor. We went here for Father’s Day to try somewhere new. The food was excellent and the service was great. Wish I’d been before.

Looooove Luk Thai! Visited twice more in May, once with friends and once with colleagues. Think it’s a stellar place, wonderful food and service and always guarantees a great evening. Rate the selection for veggies/vegans also - I couldn’t decide! Their outdoor seating was so...lovely too, no chance of freezing or getting soaked like most places locally.More

The Cricketers is by far my favourite place to eat in Cambridge! The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are always friendly and welcoming, making every visit special. The food is amazing, it tastes great and always gets served quickly. The cocktails on offer look...beautiful and taste great especially the signature cocktail. This is an amazing place to visit and I always look forward to going again. Thank you!More

We came to Luk Thai when we visited Cambridge just before lockdown. So good to return to this beautiful city and to have another great meal at Luk Thai. The food was again of a very high standard. Really enjoyed the duck spring rolls and...the Thai green curry with jasmine rice. The staff are very efficient and accommodating. Everything was spot on! The cocktails are a new addition to the menu to get the evening off to a great start. Good times!More
