This is ideal for a bite, but cannot (and does not try to) compete with what a restaurant can do (don't expect a wine list). You order your food at the counter and take a tray to your table. Someone will help if your hands are full. It was quite busy when we went at about 1200 on a Saturday... More

This is a great place to stop for a snack when in Cambridge. It is a pleasant, low- key place but it is located in the heart of Cambridge. They make good lattes and have delicious scones. Prices are reasonable.

Beautiful building, loved looking around whilst waiting to be served. Super choice of lunch. We shared soup and a sandwich. Really loved sitting high up watching everyone. My one negative would be the tables were slow to be cleaned. Would not hesitate to return.

The man running this place not customer friendly. The menus were all still up displaying hot food, soup, sandwiches but we were too late because the kitchen was shut. There really was no need for the rude way he bluntly spoke to me, declaring that what you see is what you can have. I would normally have gone elsewhere and... More

I love there salad bar and the hot food. If your gluten free and vegetarian, this is the place for you. And they got meet as well. The coffee and the cakes are so yummmm. It's a unique place to be- attach by the chapel and always got some painting exhibitions on the wall. Must try. Value for money. Children's... More

Always like to visit Michaelhouse Café when I'm in Cambridge. A lively and friendly café in lovely historic church building. Friendly and welcoming staff are always helpful to dietary requirements with a menu that is accommodating to gluten free and vegetarian diet.

We fancied a coffee break whilst shopping in Cambridge and decided to avoid all the branded haunts, some of whome manage to avoid contributing to their local economies, visited the lovely church of St Michael that houses Michaelhouse Cafe. What a lovely setting, quirky, beautiful stained glass windows, bustling atmosphere, excellent food, both in choice and flavour, proper hand made... More

Popped into the cafe after a lunchtime talk; The mozzarella and pesto ciabatta really was the most delicious I've ever eaten - buttery soft buffalo mozzarella, homemade pesto and juicy tomatoes in a freshly baked ciabatta - how to do simple really really well. Sampled a Chelsea bun - all home baked on the premises. I'm so impressed; these surpassed... More

This is such a delightful find - it's quaint & full of character as one can enjoy the building and architecture, watch or take part in a service and also enjoy the lovely food in a cafe or simply sit outside. One of the best fruit scones & latte.
