We were staying at the Chester Grosvenor for our wedding anniversary and thought we'd try this restaurant. Very glad we did. The food was wonderful; enough choice but not too much and absolutely delicious from start to finish. Service also superb- just right, not at all snooty as some of these places are. The best meal we've had for ages... More

The food and staff excellent as always. A very enjoyable lunch in Simon Radley's, followed by the afternoon in Arkles lounge. The restaurant and lounge were quieter than usual, however this did affect the overall experience. The staff are very attentive, however not over the top. The menu, £55.00 per head for lunch was excellent value for money, with 3... More

We have only a few really outstanding restaurants in the north west Fraiche, the Midland and Simon Radley are the ones we know best The Grosvenor Chester is the best hotel in the region and the Simon Radley restaurant is a big attraction The food is superb and full of flavour without being particularly innovative the staff are friendly and... Food and wine impeccable, adventurous and interesting. Be prepared for more unusual dishes such as pigeon and offal. Desserts, huge bread board and cheeses were all knock-out. Our only reservation is that the staff are overly attentive. If the table conversation is lively they should perhaps time their interruptions more sensitively. Sommelier impressive.

Booked for my wife's 40th and we were not disappointed. We chose from the a la carte menu and the food was excellent as was the service. Interesting combination of food and very tasty. Well worth a visit and would definitely return if in Chester again.

It can be a little overbearing at times but the food generally is outstanding. Some dishes don't work for me but most are good and clearly a lot of effort is made. It's expensive but not super expensive for what it is.

I booked the Simon Radley restaurant as a bit of a surprise for my girlfriend who has mentioned about going to a Michelin Star restaurant in the past. When we turned up at the restaurant we were greeted by a helpful member of the team who showed to some seats for some pre-dinner drinks. I have an allergy to Nuts... More

Having trawled TripAdvisor to help us decide where to eat, we stopped in at the Grosvenor on the off chance that they might have a table on Friday evening. We got lucky and despite it being a very busy evening, we ate a gorgeous dinner there. The balance of flavours combined with exceptional cooking delivered and justified the price. The... More

Visited the Simon Radley for my birthday treat last night. When we arrived at 6.30 the restaurant and lounge were quite empty but the waiter insisted we had to go straight to our table rather than have pre dinner drinks in lounge ! How odd? We were a party of four. Our first wine choices were not available but the... More

Description
Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, has held a Michelin star for nineteen years running surely a record outside of London. Under the direction of Executive Chef Simon Radley the exceptional modern British menu changes seasonally and uses only the finest ingredients. The cellar is also renowned, having one thousand bins and a sommelier of prodigious knowledge. The dining room itself is as dashing as you would expect with comfy chairs, oriental carpets, fine woods, original artwork, ebony pillars and many-layered tones of gold and taupe. The service is distinguished by its warmth and professionalism. Top marks.
