Had a couple of drinks here after a night out in town. fantastic building and plenty of tables to sit at. Unfortunately my husband was not very keen on the craft beer he chose but we had lovely drinks. Friendly bar staff.

Visited pure for a beer and a sandwich. The building is amazing. They had about 8 beers on offer. The Spitting Feathers is highly recommended.Good for Ham sandwiches as well.

Our first visit here. Great atmosphere as soon as you enter the bar. The random size of tables ensure that customers interact and chat to each other. The menu includes pub favourites with frills. Four of us had different dishes and all were excellent. The...More

Visitied the Brewery Tap as the finale of a real ale running tour organised by Gareth of Chester Running Tours. Very welcome as it had started to rain! The beer was excellent! The food (beef pie) was excellent!

I visited purely for the beer selection so I won't comment on the food. When we visited there were about 6 maybe 8 real ales on tap, all the ones I had well kept and well served. A very lively atmosphere and definitely not a...More

We have popped into the Tap on numerous occasions when we have been in Chester as there is always a great selection of ales to choose from. We tend to visit on a Sunday night and it’s never been overly busy, we’ve never eaten here...More

Always try and come here when visiting family in Chester. Simply the best place for real ale in Chester and in fantastic historic venue. Food has always been good too but it's the ale that is the main attraction.

Called in here on a Saturday evening after a cold and wet day walking around the historic sights of Chester. We didn't book but on arrival, even though its a bustling real ale pub, were told it wasn't a problem and to sit anywhere we...More

To be honest, conventional is not really their thing. Don't let that put you off though. You can have a Sunday Roast any Sunday you want. You can't always try and enjoy the great food and beer that is served here!
