Step back into the past. This is a fantastic pub, with an ambience full of old world charm. A wide selection of beers and a tempting menu. My wife said they served the best cappuccino she has ever tasted. I will be there whenever I am in that part of town - ten yards from the cross.

After an afternoon of shopping round the lovely streets of Chester, we decided to head down to the Victoria pub to grab something to eat. Unfortunately we regretted our decision...we ordered one thing and got another, only to our surprise that the waiter refused to admit it was his mistake and went to on to challenge us, saying that it... Very friendly waitress. Tasty Sunday roast fare with great portions. Popped in whilst Christmas shopping and I'd certainly return again.

From the outside it does not look very big and given its location it looks set back off the street.. Must be one of the oldest pubs upon Chester! A very old pub bursting with character and charm, with low beams, seating areas and a large bar area in the centre. There is not much room to walk around the... More

Nice and quiet place for a beer. Food is quite good, though simple (do not expect elaborated food, this is not a restaurant), but it is worth the (low) price you pay for it.

Went into this pub 45 years ago and thought I would give it another try. Food, service and ambience was excellent. Good selection of beers and food at a very reasonable price.

Called in here today (7th Nov) on a visit to Chester to go Christmas shopping, and to meet up with our daughter who attends Chester University. Arrived around 1.00pm and managed to find a vacant table. Very busy at this time. Good selection of beers which my husband was grateful for. We all chose the homemade beef and ale pie,... More

Visited weekday lunchtime where it was ticking over but not madly busy. Had lovely fresh sandwiches with loads filling and shared side order of fries. All quickly served and delicious and a good price. Historic pub in centre of Chester is so much nicer than a chain coffee shop I feel.
