Stayed at The Chester Grosvenor and ate at La Brasserie - the perfect combination. Staff were really attentive, and the food simply out of this world. My husband went for the mackerel starter while I had the duck - both delicious. Steak followed, and it was obviously of the highest quality and cooked exactly to our liking - medium rare.... More

Dear Tulbow Thank you for your review of La Brasserie and I was sorry to read your comments. I would respectfully disagree with your view that our service has deteriorated so badly over the last two years which is contradicted by the overwhelming number of positive and highly complimentary reviews that the hotel and its restaurant consistently receives. As a... More

A very quick visit on this occasion, no more than drinks in The Brasserie which is the more casual restaurant/ bar. On arrival in The Brasserie, two members of staff had their backs to us while at the desk, 40 seconds later the gentleman turned around and I asked could we sit anywhere. The reply was 'yes anywhere there is... More

Sat down for lunch in the light bites section, had an amazing meal and received excellent service. My parents ordered fish and chips which was Perfect - light and crispy with mushy peas and perfect crispy French fries. My vegetarian meal was also delicious. Great choice of wines, port and dessert or cheese platter too. Although it may appear pricey... More

Only called in for a coffee and scones. Lovely setting, we will call again for a meal as the staff were friendly and attentive. Not the cheapest place but I would say it was good value considering the comfortable environment. You feel a bit special being there.

A friend and I had lunch as part of a spa day. One course was included. I had the salmon with chorizo, my friend had the duck. Both of us really enjoyed the food which came well presented and hot. We had dessert too, the selection plate and the panacotta. Again, really tasty and presented well. The service was fantastic.... More

The coffee was too weak and only just warm,my son-in- law had to cut my muffin it was so tough,it was plain-not even a piece of tomato no garnish at all The scrambled egg was tasteless and overcooked. We had pastries... More

Thought we would treat ourselves for Valentine's and we're glad we did. I wanted somewhere different and the Grosvenor is still a class place to eat. The impressive top hat worn by the doorman or the receptionist calling the wife Ma'am when answering a question is not pretentious but genuine service. The dining area is lined with leather couch seats... More

A little bit disappointed on this visit as ordered the lemon sole as my main course and 5 minutes later told it was unavailable, this was Monday 6pm. waited at least 10 minutes for a glass of champagne, all in all it was just ok.

Description
With a relaxed Parisian style atmosphere La Brasserie is the perfect place for a coffee, a cocktail or a leisurely meal. The black leather sofas, sleek granite tabletops and hand-painted glass skylight all add to the feeling of French sophistication, and the Josper grill produces food superior both in taste and quality.
