A friend's daughter organised a delightful surprise afternoon tea for her mother who is shortly to get married. There were eight in our party and we had a private room which was warm and cosy. The table was beautifully laid with bone china. The tea itself consisted of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cream buns and some small cakes.... More

It is a great pleasure to read your recent review of our Vintage Afternoon Tea at the Headland, especially with your warm praise of our smaller lounges with our increasingly popular afternoon teas. We are proud to offer a wide range of loose leaf teas and specialty coffees to complement the tea itself, and especially of our waiting team who... More

Came to this beautiful hotel for a Christmas meal with friends, roaring log fires, lovely staff, great atmosphere....but the food was dreadful, the turkey was just the frozen slices heated up, the roast potatoes were hard and musty tasting, stuffing was also hard and tasteless. Such a shame as had been looking forward to this meal and it wasn't cheap.... More

Thank you for your recent review concerning your Christmas luncheon at the Terrace. It is very disappointing to hear of your experience with us, and that the food quality did not match or exceed your expectations. I have raised your concerns with our Executive Head Chef who is working hard to ensure that the quality is much improved. If you... More

An eatery with a beautiful view, with a good selection of sandwiches and light bites You need to book though - we turned up just after one pm, the place was only half full. They were reluctant to let us in, but we convinced them to let us have some sandwiches. They put us on an unsuitable table, despite all... More

For such an iconic hotel our dinner was disappointingly expensive. Having arrived to stay in the beautiful cottages we choose to eat in the hotel and went for the slightly more laid back dinner in the Terrace. My Husband's steak was very "pub grub" and the peppercorn sauce wasn't really a sauce just a weak pepper flavoured pot of water.... More

We had afternoon tea at the Terrace. The location is amazing with wonderful views. Worth a visit for that. However, the staff were a little over the top /eccentric and didn't always appear to know what was going on. The afternoon tea was also average. The sandwiches were a bit bland and it would have been nice to have another... More

Spoilt an otherwise great weekend at this lovely hotel. The meal was swimming in oil, flowing across the plate in waves. When we complained we were told that we would not have pay for it given that it was not to my liking. This was not a taste issue! It was just wrong. There are much better places to eat... More

Fabulous location facing the sea, Fistral Beach and the headland beyond. During the summer the area comes alive, During Autumn time it is a great place to have coffee or stronger stuff from the bar, wrap up well as it can be chilly when the storm watching season is in full swing. Great hotel, friendly staff many of whom went... More

What the management of the hotel have to understand is that a proper tea at the Headland as they are trying to present, should be at a table large enough to have the tea pot and tiered sandwich/cake stand together with a clean white table cloth. The staff were clearly untrained apart from one who apologised to us after.
