As it's name suggests, the restaurant overlooks a pleasant lake. You can watch people feeding the ducks and geese while you eat. Food and service were both very good.( and you can buy food for the ducks too ).

I'm sure that serving a group of 10 at a time is not easy, especially among an already busy lunchtime service - but the kitchen achieved this and came out with a superb meal from their Christmas menu. We pre-ordered but between us we had a challenging mix of Parsnip Soup, Coconut Prawns & Duck Croquettes as starters, followed by... More

Needed food at lunchtime so visited a place we had been to before in the evening, it was the Lakeside or Morrisons and I am sure we chose the right one. It was quite busy for Saturday lunchtime but they we able to get us a table for 3. All the food is cooked to order and along it came... More

We visited for lunch and chose this cafe as we had a small dog with us and were able to take him inside (it was too cold to eat outside). We picked a busy time, so had a bit of a wait. The food was very good, portion sizes were large. I had only been here for coffee before, and... More

A wide glassed frontage overlooking the Duck pond, makes for a very pleasant place for a relaxed breakfast. Coffee is excellent and prices good and it has become one of our regular coffee places. Lots of young kids and dogs around, so don't go if you are allergic to either.

Enjoyed a great meal on an impromptu visit. Front of house were really friendly. We both had an open pies. One lamb and one fish however the reality was both a lamb stew and fish stew with added pastry shards. Still fantastic and would certainly return. Thanks .

Visited with a group of friends for a celebration. They prepared the table with special decorations etc. Nice touch. I had the salt and pepper squid for starters which were delicious, for main some amazing crab cakes, the best I've ever eaten and for dessert the pannacotta which again was perfect. Nobody on our table had any complaints with the... More

We've reviewed Lakeside before and eaten here several times. We've never found fault before. This evening our booking was for 8:30pm. Drinks and starters arrived promptly and were superb. Main courses were also good, although the tortilla accompanying the chicken was a little dry and heavy and the noodles lacked spice. We ordered dessert, but it didn't arrive and the... More

Went as three adults, three children, and baby. No problem accommodating buggy, have baby changing room. Service good. Food decent enough. main courses about £8. Total for 3 adult, 3 children's cooked mains, 2 desserts, three chocolate bars as children's desserts and drinks £50. Would go again .

Been coming here for years! Never thought to review it. Gets busy in the summer so don't visit often but once the holiday makers have gone we return . The food is consistently good with a changing menu and we are never disappointed with breakfast, lunch or dinner. Have also had lunch with work colleagues and we never want to... More
