This is a great find nestled down in Newquay harbour. Relaxed dining is the key in a great spot watching over the bustle of a working harbour. You know the fish is fresh because you can either see it swimming in the tanks as you walk in or see the boats that landed them. The staff are warm, welcoming and... More

My husband and myself and our 2 dogs came here on the last night of our honeymoon as we wanted somewhere different and special. The Boathouse fitted the bill perfectly. We sat on the covered terrace (the patio heaters were sufficient to keep the evening chill at bay) watching the receding tide gently rock the boats in the harbour. Atmosphere... More

Popped in on a Lunchtime after reading many rave reviews. Not greeted on entry so found a table then went to bar to order drinks and food. It was very quiet but it was over 30 minutes before the starters arrived. The mains took a similar length of time to arrive and then one of the dishes wasn't what I'd... More

Second visit to Newquay was down at the quay and so decided to eat hear. It was a good place to watch the Gig racing that was taking part at the time. I went for the seafood stew and was not disappointed, it was the equal to the Portuguese Seafood stew. It was great to sit out in the sun... More

Visited with a male group of six - annual university mates trip ! The staff were fantastic - attentive and efficient and even joined in our banter showing great humour and customer care . The location is fantastic right on the waters edge but even better than the great location and fantastic service was the food . Well cooked and... More

Right in the middle of the Newquay harbour this is a quaint but delightful seafood restaurant.Limited wine and beer list but lots of fresh seafood. Lobster tanks everywhere , good service and a serious harbour aspect. A pleasant experience.

We both had the Battered Fish (Pollack) I was told at the point of ordering, a bit sceptical as I always have Cod. However, no need for the scepticism at all, this fish was so lovely and not a hint of grease on it. I requested salad instead of peas and this was provided. Service was excellent and food delicious.... More

The boathouse is a great quirky Cornish fish restaurant right on the waters edge in the harbour. Off chance find and we luckily got a table, staff friendly and attentive. Food and location was great fun. Only comments would be beware that outside even with the gas fires is cold if at all windy. The food was great but no... More

We enjoyed this restaurant........However it was 'heaving' with people and the staff were a little stressed. We had the fresh lobster and it was delicious. However, we were a little surprised that there was not much meat for two of us. In the end, with wine and dessert, the meal was a bit expensive. However the location is superb, and... More

Great food on the waterfront. The view is stunning. Good food that is well presented- hot plates would have helped keep the food hot! Nice menu, would definitely come again.
