A really lovely take away fish and chip - coeliac accredited which is pretty impressive and felt very safe. Both times I had gf cod and chips. The 2nd time, my husband joined in with normal fish and chips and was a bit envious of my gf batter. It takes about 7 minutes longer for them to cook it, but lovely service, very clear discussion about what was and wasn't gf, and gorgeous fresh food! A local was complaining about the price of chips while we waited for ours, but I was quite happy with two adult meals for under £15 at that level of safety and quality. We'd definitely go back, and postponed our drive back to the Midlands so we could do our 2nd trip on the way.

We visited on a Saturday 25th eve to eat in,we were very impressed by the young team working hard to serve a busy restaurant. I was also very pleased to watch the two young lads cooking and noted them continually washing their hands between food prep. The food was nice and the service by the very pleasant and hard working team impressive well done,we loved it.

Another fabulous meal at Fraser's in Penzance, easily the best fish and chips in the area. The batter is unbelievably light, everything is freshly cooked to order. The onion rings have to be tasted to be believed. They have alcohol including Prosecco and gorgeous, locally sourced, Moomaid Ice cream to finish. 'ansome A special mention must go to the lovely staff team, so friendly and can't do enough to help. This evening the plaudits go to the super smiley Anya.

You can smell the ocean in every bite. Haha the calamari is really good. The battered fishes are just ok But it’s quite pricey and the amount/size is not that big for it’s price. However, they give you loads of chips though. Hahaha In my experience, for a first meal in Penzance, not too bad.

Chips were absolutely shocking. I mean really shocking, for the price we paid we were completely taken aback by the quality of the product we recieved. All 4 portions of chips were utterly vile, literally inedible. All 4 of us threw them away. My Nan even called up and complained and she's lovely, that's how disappointing they were. They looked and tasted like they'd been cooked, left until cold, and then hastily reheated when we made our order. Only reason this isn't a 1 star was the fish, it was very heavily battered and definitely wasn't fresh but still tasted lovely, as all fish always does!

Hi Xander I have spoken to the team and we are a little unsure about the circumstances surrounding your order and the team did not receive a call from you nan. I can assure you that we never let any of our food go cold and then reheat it. Our MSC fish is frozen at sea for freshness and our Cornish fish is caught fresh each morning. Fish is never left to spoil. We are sorry to you a bad experience with us. Best wishes Pete

Was recommended this fish and chip shop by staff in the lugger Inn and we were not disappointed. Fish was very white and fresh with a lovely crisp batter and the chips were delicious. Friendly staff. We ate here a couple of times whilst on a weeks holiday in Penzance

First full day in Penzance so fancied fish and chips by the sea for dinner. Had an online booking system so you could collect which was really good and we set off at 645 on a Sunday night to pick up. When we got there had to wait outside with a number of others which was fair enough but no one seemed to know who was waiting to collect, who had walked up and who was waiting to buy. The main reason was because the entrances were blocked off due to Covid measures. This is now summer 2022 and most people and places have figured out how to go back to normal. All this did was cause confusion and impair the customer experience. Picked up our food, expensive compared to inland chip shops but always think you have a premium to pay when by the sea. The problem was that for the money we had a small number of dry chips, a thin small battered piece of fish and then the crowning glory some dry, mashed lumps which were meant to be mushy peas. The mushy peas were simply awful!! All in all not the experience we had hoped for and even though we were sent 20% off email for booking online and had 6 more days of our holiday to go it was definitely not an experience even with the discount we wanted to do again. Did put this in a survey email I was sent that evening but no response back. Not sure if many options for better tasting and better value chips elsewhere in town or up the road in Newlyn but I would consider all your options before deciding if you should go for this one.

Having created an appetite following a walk on the prom , we found them open , ordered through the door and waited while they were freshly cooked. Haddock and chips, salt and vinegar, sea view, fantastic. Good to find them open, social distancing and precautions well executed. If you find yourself in Penzance and hungry, look this place up, we thought it excellent for a chippy.

Delicious fish, fresh and well spiced. We took small cod and it’s well worth the price, I regret I took small, should of upgraded to large if I only knew how delicious it would be. Next time we’re in Cornwall we will come back here for sure. Don’t listen to order people moaning about the price, it’s not expensive at all. Large cod for £8 it’s not loads of money.

A clue this is a good place for fish and chips was the queue of locals ordering and waiting for their food. We had cod, haddock, chips and gravy takeaway and it was fantastic . Fish was freshly cooked to order, wasn't greasy and very tasty. Great chips and gravy too. Reasonably priced and highly recommended.

Monday evening in Penzance and the only place open to get fish and chips was Frazers, read the reviews and thought we would give them a try. Ordered two large cod and chips to takeaway. Fish was nice, crispy batter and fresh. However the chips were terrible, the website says "double cooked famous chips!, crunchy on the outside fluffy on the inside". The chips were hard, pale and tasted funny like the oil was old. Very dissapointed not sure how they can make these claims and get away with it. Doubt I'll go back, will wait till the Pirates rest is open much better chips there. Looking at other reviews I'm not the only one who has had issues with the chips, maybe someone needs to address this issue urgently.

Visited here again after seeing some good reviews via news outlets online. Large fish and chips over 12£, expensive considering a regular sized portion of chips was 2.55£ and equivalent to a small portion at other fish and chip shops. Batter on the fish was soggy and undercooked although chips were very tasty, as was the fish itself. Won't visit again and won't recommend as better fish and chip shops available in the area.

£3.50 for 5 chicken nuggets and £2.60portion of chips. £6.10 not a very good price at all. Adding to this that unfortunately we lost 2 nuggets as the server did not ensure that the box was sealed correctly - but one could say that would both of our faults. However this place is the most expensive fish and chip takeaway I've been to. There are better places to get fish and chips in Penzance. It just seems this place prices their food on location.

I have intended to write this review for a while but sadly life got in the way. It is however, still important enough that although time has passed that I say how absolutely fabulous the fish and chips are from your takeaway. The batter was light and crispy and the chips fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside and presented really nicely in a box which meant they didn't steam and go soggy in paper. Can't fault them.

Had fantastic Gluten Free cod and chips. It was freshly cooked to order, the chips were fluffy on the inside and the batter on the fish was extremely light and crisp, the fish itself being very succulent. Everything piping hot. You aren't charged extra just because you are having gluten free, which some places do and the staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended!
