This lovely restaurant with Jake, the executive chef, prepares excellent dishes that would equal any chef in the world with his talents. On my 3rd visit to this unpretentious hotel restaurant simple food is taken to the next level in presentation, portion and taste. Fish and chips perfectly cooked, sea bass, hamburger, fish pie, all delicious. My favorite, cottage pie... More

Lovely evening meal with very good service from both the waitresses. The food was cooked to perfection. I had steak and my fiancé had fish and chips, both superb.

Positives: staff all really friendly. Breakfast excellent although we did have to wait a while for the cooked bit, it was really good when it turned up! Kellogs cereals, coffee, croissants to keep you going whilst waiting. Evening meal again, excellent. Sea Bass and steak meals really, really good. Our room was "Biology". Nice sea views, small but well equipped... More

Had breakfast here on the 29th April on my way to a camping wedding weekend. It was delicious with amazing friendly services. The two girls who worked there nailed the balance of professionalism, friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself has an authentic cosy feel to it. Thank you ladies for the assistance to book a local taxi, I am ever... More

We stayed in the Art Room, up some steps but the staff is awesome and will help with luggage and anything else. Breakfast is included and cooked to order. Cream tea is delicious in the afternoon. The staff makes this place just grand. And they filmed school scenes of Doc Martin in the parking lot during our stay. Too bad... More

We had dinner here, very nice surroundings and excellent food and wine. Staff were very good and we were looked after very well. We had three courses at dinner and all were very good. I had pork medallions with mustard mash which was very tasty and very good. Good sized portions but not over size so left room for puds.

Had some awful food in Port Isaac but not here. Everything was excellent. Sea bass, fish pie and battered haddock were all first class. Scrummy desserts and good coffee. Great attentive service too.

Having arrived in Port Isaac, without booking ahead, we stumbled across this restaurant. We were very pleased we did. We had a super meal, including a great fish pie, sea bass and salmon. The staff were kind and the atmosphere was friendly and informal. We enjoyed the food so much we returned 2 days later.

We visited Port Isaac and walked all around the streets & their was some filming going on so most of the cafes etc were busy so we decided to pop into the Old School House for a drink & it was very interesting . Still had a lot of the old school aspects about it
