After narrowing our choices down we decided on The Black Rock. Glad we did, it was lovely. Friendly staff, good menu, and most importantly excellent food. Would recommend and definitely go back.

We have visited this restaurant each time we stay in st ives( usually twice a year) and it has always been a highlight of our eating week. Unfortunately not this time. It was the most expensive meal of the week and the most disappointing. My husband and son both had the steak and although one was tasty and well cooked... More

Firstly, let's talk about restaurant etiquettes - you don't tell your guests that you need them out by a certain time. You politely suggest how you operate. I was first asked how I booked the table and I said through your website and the waitress reminded told me to be out by a certain time. Not a very good start.... More

Our first visit to the Black Rock Restaurant and we will return. The mussels on the specials board were the best I have ever tasted. Great, friendly service. Book to avoid disappointment.

We came here for dinner. The decor is simple with contemporary art on the walls. We had mussels, scallops, rib-eye steak and cheese. It was all well presented, tasty, uncomplicated and very good. The service was friendly. Would recommend The Black Rock for a great meal out.

A really nice little restaurant offering lovely food. I would definitely recommend the crab starter- it was divine. The sole main course was very nice and the crumble dessert delicious. I thought the menu was set at a reasonable price for the standard of the chef and the only real fault I could find was the length of time between... More

The restaurant itself is simple in the way it looks, not overly luxurious. This made the service and food stand out even more than if it had been. We immediately felt welcome and staff were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The portions were the perfect size and were incredibly tasty (scallops and gravalax starters, confit duck main, basil... More
