I have never given a restaurant an Excellent grade on food, service, and value, until today. If you are in St ives...or even if you are in Penzance in which case Becks is worth the short drive, YOU MUST EAT HERE. This is a family...More

We had haddock, chips and pea fritter - the haddock had crispy batter and was well cooked. The chips were ok but not great and the pea fritter was big enough for 2 to share.

Went to get a takeaway after being recommended to use becks. But while the cod was absolutely first class the meal was let down by the lank greasy chips. Staff were on the ball during the busy time when I queued up waiting my turn...More

Outstanding food, excellent value for money. Short to medium waiting time, well worth the wait! My disabled mother enjoys it every time, as well as my daughter, who enjoys the food. Also came with friends, who all enjoyed it as well. Helpful staff, especially to...More

Not your usual chippy, this is a very special fish restaurant, not nouvelle cuisine but good old fish and chips served in lovely surroundings. Excellent portions beautifully cooked and great chips. We'll be back!

If you want old school, quality fish and chips, this is the place! Large portions of good, no nonsense food. Consistently great fresh fish and chips. Always a must whenever we're visiting St Ives.

Been twice already. Long lines but worth it. Love that they have gluten free batter. The fish is delicious, the chips are not too greasy and the prices are really reasonable. Under £7 for a huge piece of haddock and the small portion of chips...More

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and had a takeaway of hake, haddock, chips and onion rings. The food was kind of ok but it was really greasy and made us regret going there. Wouldn't go back.

I do believe that a certain member of staff once stroked a dog in the 80's but this may just be a rumour put about by the locals.

On tap I remember Guinness, John Smiths, or Worthingtons. Some others in bottles. Pretty standard high Street brands, nothing from craft or microbreweries. Wines are on tap, or from the bottle. Spirits are all the usual... More

Becks has expanded into a restaurant with bar and lounge area to complement the still thriving take-away. The restaurant area itself seats over 100 people. Becks does not take reservations, although notification of parties over 9 people is recommended. The main selling point and one of the major credentials is that Becks offer gluten free options. All types of fish (Cod, Haddock, Hake, Plaice), scampi and pizzas are available with this option. For customers choosing to sit in the restaurant there is also a range of desserts on offer that are gluten free. Becks is the only fish and chip shop in a 6 mile radius that offer gluten free products.
