We popped in here for a quick coffee after a long day. I've no idea what it was but there was something about this place that said go elsewhere. Although the place looked new with swanky/trendy/bright interior it was empty. There was no-one else in there & I genuinely thought it was shut, no staff, no nothing, so we hung... More

We are here as we were looking for somewhere offering crab sandwiches with was also dog friendly. The dog friendly area of the cafe is a small area as you enter but we only found this out by asking as there was no sign. The seating available was comfortable had we been having drinks only, but not suitable for eating... More

Called in after an open bus ride at the A View Cafe for a coffee and tea cake. Creamy coffee and massive teacakes for £6.55. Great price. Friendly helpful staff. Clean and tidy.

There was nothing wrong with the café itself or the staff but the food was terrible. Was told the 'summer vegetable soup' would contain vegetables but they could not specify which ones. This made more sense as it tasted like it had just come out of a tin, so that explains why they didn't know. It was salty and glutenous.... More

Ordered cornish pasties and they were delicious but the chips looked like yesterdays re-fried!! The hot chocolate was the powdered kind with hot water added which isn’t comforting or easy on the palate. It’s in a fabulous location due to the harbour view but totally ruined with it’s cold grey sanitised interior. Plastic grey or orange chairs that don’t look... More

Appalling behaviour by the waitress and kitchen hand who refused to let me eat in the main cafe because I had my Assistance Dog with me! I was told to eat out in the lobby where I couldn't sit on the chairs as too low and where the door was wide open to the elements! I showed my certificate and... More

This is a great space - clean and modern feeling with a good view. But the food was just so tired.... no sense that anyone had given it any thought, though we did get a reasonable cup of tea once we had asked for enough boiling water. Undercooked pannini with warming mozzarella, and the fishcake was overcooked and inviting. Lovely... More

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday and as others have said the cafe doesn't seem to attract the custom it deserves, even at 3pm and being in a prime position by the harbour, there were plenty of tables available, Ok the decor is a tad clinical, but it is bright and more importantly very clean, we were served by a... This cafe has a fab location right on the harbour in St Mawes, and should be buzzing, but it just isn't. We were there on a bank holiday weekend, the town was heavingly busy and yet The View was nearly empty. The food we ordered was ok - and that's the problem, it was ok, not great, just not a... More
