Terrible service. Moody waitresses. Dirty cutlery. Hair in the food! When I showed to the waitresses the hair I found in the jacket potato I’ve ordered she said: nobody in the kitchen has blonde hair. She suggested it was my hair. How cheeky! I would...never recommend that place.More
Stopped for lunch while visiting Tintagel. Had a large breakfast, my wife had the bacon and Brie toasted sandwich and our little one had a sausage bap. All were gorgeous, the breakfast in particular was an ‘old skool’ one with fried bread AND toast !...If you’re in Tintagel, go and eat here. To top it all, a friendly local helped us out as we were 25p short when paying ! There’s nothing not to like here 👍🏻 perfectMore
Sadly the owners/employees are already at the end of their tether with the people who bring in probably 30% of their yearly trade ..tourist !! You can read body language and facial expressions and they are almost done with it … time to sell up...or change your career… the service was slow and haphazard our coffee arrived and was just left on the tray in a “ear are “ kinda fashion ABSOLUTELY no care for delivery … the food was very basic and jst about did what it had too … I had jacket potato with a spoon full of tuna Mayo and partner had full English .. fried slice died in the frier …sausages were cheap and nasty. AND if we had had a check back yes we would of complained but I’m only a tourist hurry up and go home … oh no we need your money firstMore
We were visiting Tintagel from the states. Our son is in the Air Force and stationed here in the UK. The staff seemed uninterested us coming in and eating. We were the first ones into eat at 5pm when they reopened. My wife came to...ask about seating and the young lady threw menus down on a table and left. I was quite shocked. I ordered the Cracker Jack burger. It was AWESOME. I can't comment on the rest of dinner. We spent around $100.00 (US). I was a little disappointed with the initial contact. When I paid the bill, the cashier was polite and cordial.More
We stopped into this cafe/grill for lunch after a trip to Tintegal Castle. It did not disappoint, the burger was cooked to perfection and is honestly the best burger I’ve eaten in a number of years (and I’ve eaten a lot of burgers!). Large portions...so could not finish all of the chips/ fabulous homemade coleslaw! Highly recommend.More
We arrived at a busy time but were greeted and sat down with ease. Our lovely chat with the owner and order was taken with an explanation it may be a little delayed as food was cooked fresh. The food arrived and the kindness and...understanding shown to us and our little grandaughter was wonderful. A small family run business which had lovely home made produce served in a welcoming way.More
Entered the restaurant, went to sit at an empty table and brusquely told it was reserved with no politeness sitting at another table then had menus literally thrown onto the table with a very rude attitude after which we left.
Whilst we could not comment on the food as we decided not to eat there due to the very unwelcome greeting upon arrival, felt like we were in the way. The only place in Tintagel where we felt unwelcome. Customer service and a smile would...have been appreciated. Cost them a table of 5 people in what seemed an empty restaurant.More
Unfortunately we had closed for the day when you arrived. If saying “sorry we are closed for today” is unwelcoming then that is very unfortunate! We have a family & have to close promptly to juggle life/work & children. Sorry for the inconvenience
Day out in Tintagel, which started with an amazing breakfast at this lovely place. The food was amazing, especially the fried bread. Staff were also lovely. Will be going back and would recommend it.
We were recommended to this eatery by some locals, which was lucky for us. We had a delightful lunch of ham, egg and chips, which comprised of a plateful of Cornish ham, two beautifully cooked eggs and plenty of lovely hot chips. The staff were...friendly, and took time to ask whether we were happy with our food, which had obviously been freshly cooked. I would definitely eat there again.More
Had the large cooked breakfast and it was perfection. The eggs were perfect, the heritage pork sausages were to die for. Very quick service and everything cooked fresh.
Had the most amazing roast, plenty of it, hot places, hot food very tasty Staff very polite and on the ball
Went to The Crossbow for breakfast. We've been several times (and been impressed) for dinner, but this was a first. I have to say that I was extremely impressed. The quality, and size, of the breakfast goes beyond "good value", to the point I'd have...to say it is cheap for what you get. The staff were incredibly friendly, and nothing was too much trouble.More
After visiting the amazing Tintagel Castle we were quite a bit hungry. This restaurant was still open for lunch and had some tables outside. Our English Bulldog was welcome as well. Ordered a Jacket Potatoe with Quinoa Curry and Crab Cakes with fries. Some water...and Coke with that - had a long drive ahead of me. Both meals came with fresh and crunchy salad on the side. The quinoa curry was very nice, never had quinoa curry before. Went well with the potatoes. The crab cakes were a pleasant suprise. Hot, crispy and with nice seafood flavour. Tender and creamy inside. Staff was very friendly, prices very fair. Good location on the main road (but still quiet). A very good lunch in a wonderful town.More
