After several times visiting ASK and enjoying the meal, it's unhappy to write about a less than good experience - hopefully it's a one-off. First, the staff were very obliging getting me and my scooter up a step and to the table. We were a pre-Chirstmas gathering of 8, and had opted for the "2 from 3" festive menu. And... More

Visited Ask on 14 February at lunchtime. We hadn't made a booking. When we arrived, we were asked for our names but explained we hadn't booked and wondered if they had a table. The waiter, didn't even speak to us, picked up two menus walked over to a spare table for two plonked the menus down then walked off. Nothing... More

Popped in on spec for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. Good atmosphere and clean so I would recommend.

Nice location and good atmosphere however my main course was bland and tasteless (carbonara). My boyfriend had the New pollo prosciutto which was very nice. Waitress didn't check on us or ask how food was afterwards. Mount etna for desert was lush, highly recommended.

We were four of us with our friends treating us. I believe they had vouchers. The dining room at the front of the premises is such a soulless room. I suppose it has a bit of a view of the Cathedral if you are on a couple of the tables. Our previous visit we ate in the rear and historic... More

Having been on a low carb diet for 5 weeks, Ask wouldn't of been my first choice, but my wife loves it. The Chefs Salad, was excellent ham Mozzarella, artichoke, with green salad was exactly what I needed. The service was efficient and the food served in good time, and a lovely view across the cathedral green

Had a beautiful dinner with my husband here a week ago. It was a very busy Friday night but this didn't stop our waiter from checking in on us, making food recommendations and serving us with some very delicious Italian food. My husband had Tagliatelle with porcini and mixed mushrooms in a cream sauce seasoned with garlic and fresh thyme.... More

Visited on a quiet Monday evening. Only table on the restaurant. Ordered starters of breads and olives which took 40 minutes to come. Then received our mains of seabass and the beef pasta dish which were very small portions tasteless and bland. No check backs from the servers to see how the food was! Altogether a very disappointing visit. Will... More

Went with freinds and used a tastecard to get 2 for 1 meals. I can only say that had I paid full price i would have felt cheated. that said the food was reasonable and it had a nice atmosphere. Will not go again.

Description
The ASK Italian restaurant group boasts an excellent Exeter venue, situated in a stunning period building on the green next to Exeter Cathedral. The ASK Italian restaurant has recently gone through an extensive refurbishment. We've created a restaurant with a distinctive new look inspired by modern Italian design. And with the help of our expert friends, including awarding-winning chef Theo Randall, we've created a menu that features a range of simple, classic Italian food and an all Italian wine list.
